Did anyone else play the Rocketeer game? It was never that popular, but I owned it and it was one of my favorite NES games. It had a variety weapons and the jet pack was one of the coolest devices in an NES game.

I played it. I can't say I liked it a whole lot but it was a serviceable platformer.
I don't know if I was the only one who had this awful game...

I use to play the hell out of this game.![]()
Ah yes, the blowing into the cartridges and the NES itself.![]()
I can't remember if I played the arcade version or the NES version... but it really wasn't that bad. I don't know if I ever got that far though... that level one music is epic though!I don't know if I was the only one who had this awful game...

I never played it as a kid, but a friend and I played through it together about two years ago. It's a decent little platformer if you're looking for a challenge and can put up with a few flaws.
I'd still be doing now, but the prices for systems and games have skyrocketed beyond belief.
Well, my budget for non-essentials is extremely limited, so to afford a system that's $300 or more I'd have to avoid anything else for at least 3 months. If you adjust for inflation, it is actually cheaper now to be a gamer.

I really prefer the games I grew up with, which would now be classified as "retro". I still have some the cartridges and a working NES that I fixed, but to use it I'd need a high-quality upscaler, and those can get expensive very quickly. I don't have anough space in my room to add a CRT TV next to the HD set, so emulation is my only option for the moment. You can get a Xbox Series S for far less than that, if you shop around. Or get a used older console. I paid $80 for a used PlayStation 3, last year. Many games are super cheap.
