Star Trek is a franchise that has proven repeatedly that it can be a success with shows featuring fresh sets of characters. I don’t see why TNG or anything else even needs to be rebooted.

Are they making money now with what they’re already producing?
I really hope that I never have to see that happen. If they think there's money in a reboot, they'll do a reboot. They won't care if some TNG purists hate the show. (Sorry. lol) I remember Sir Patrick saying in an interview years ago that they'll probably reboot TNG one day anyway. So even he knows that this is most likely inevitable.
As for me personally... I used to be dead set against this sort of thing. But nowadays I look at TNG and all the cringey moments it has because it gets more and more dated and I think "hmm maybe a reboot could and would fix this". Doesn't mean I'd watch tho. Would depend on several factors.
I will hardly call the mediocre 2000's rebots "success".Star Trek is a franchise that has proven repeatedly that it can be a success with shows featuring fresh sets of characters. I don’t see why TNG or anything else even needs to be rebooted.

True but Discovery featured TOS characters since the start and only let go of them when they travelled to the future, Picard is a TNG sequel eventually turning into a full blown reunion, Strange New Worlds is basically "TOS The Early Years", Prodigy is a Voyager sequel, Lower Decks is filled to the brim with guest appearances and references to 90s Star Trek and Starfleet Academy will be a Discovery sequel.Star Trek is a franchise that has proven repeatedly that it can be a success with shows featuring fresh sets of characters.
Not a single Star Trek production in the last 20 years relied completely on a fresh set of characters, so I can definitely see a TNG reboot happening eventually.
ENT damaged Star Trek. A retro series and a mediocre one too was not what Star Trek needed back then.If you're talking about ENT, I agree.
ST09 was objectively a success though.
And I didn't say they were successful everytime... but TNG? A blank slate with little to no legacy stuff (at first anyway). Gangbusters.
Like Young Sheldon? If anything, I’d rather they make a young Picard series instead of rebooting TNG.
Was ST09 really a success? I get the impression that many fans disliked it and it was definitely not the injection of energy for Star Trek which TNG was when it started.
Picard taking command of the Stargazer would be a pretty good premise for a pilot. If anything, I’d rather they make a young Picard series instead of rebooting TNG.
Like Young Sheldon?![]()
