I'm a fan. It's fine. The two seasons of SNW have been my favorite Star Trek since 1986. And my favorite Star Trek on television since the 1970's.

I wouldn't show any clips from Deadly Years to promote season 2 of TOS either.
Are the fans not going to watch?
I dunno. Presumably good trailers make people more eager to watch and bad trailers make people less eager, but I wouldn't expect this particular clip to have done anything to sway most people either way. It's basically just shown existing fans that SNW is still a thing and it's still fully committed to giving its audience 40 minutes of Spock Hijinx every season.
So...it's not a bad thing, has generated engagement and conversation z which is always a good thing?

I THINK it was Spock taking the Enterprise out. "You gotta have a thing." That bit. So, first episode. That was a long time ago.
I recall it being the scene from Among the Lotus Eaters where Erica is excited to go on a landing party, only to be told that she'll be needed on the ship.

Fan here too, and fine as well. Some fans need to stop thinking that their thoughts and feelings on whatever fandom in question are correct and must be true for all fans. We all have our own thoughts and feelings.
In any case, I'm fine with the clip. Sure, it makes no sense that somehow, Vulcan emotional repression is genetic. But they're doing shenanigans. And I've enjoyed the shenanigans episodes of SNW. As much as I enjoyed the serious and emotional ones. Because I enjoy SNW.
And if some fan online starts telling me that's wrong because he/she/they don't like the shenanigans, well..... As Kirk once said: Double dumbass on you.*

I think Pike's hair is hilarious, like I'm so Vulcan even my glorious hair is rigidly emotionless.
To a certain sect within fandom, that is the problem.
