I do indeed -- and it would have been a much more satisfying ending for the film, and a much more respectful one for their characters.
Sasha Calle cut quite the figure as Supergirl, it's a shame her tenure was cut so short.
She was done dirty by The Flash, particularly, as noted, with its dumb revised ending (for which James Gunn was apparently responsible, which does not exactly endear him to me). But I'm very much looking forward to Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, and Milly Alcock's turn in the role. These characters are always going to change hands, it's just disappointing that Calle's time as Kara was so short. I thought she did great.

From the original thread about the DC Film Universe through 2020

2016 - Batman/Superman, Suicide Squad
2017 - Wonder woman, Justice League
2018 - The Flash (Ezra Miller), Aquaman (Jason Momoa)
2019 - Shazam, Justice League 2
2020 - Cyborg, Green Lantern
No Dates - Standalone Batman (with Affleck), Standalone Superman (Cavil)*

* mentioned in a couple of places but can't confirm this.

Interetsing that 5 of those movies never appeared, and one took 5 years longer than scheduled.

The previous thread was based on the slate up to 2020 which is basically thrown out the window now, and since the remaining films that were discussed in that thread have their own separate anticipation threads(linked below) I think it's time for a new thread about the future of DC movies.

I'm putting the wonderfully generic "DC Movies" in the title cause I doubt the "Worlds of DC" thing will catch on, and not limiting the thread to a certain year. ;)

What we know so far is that we currently have in production:

Aquaman - 21.12.2018 - Grading and Discussion Thread

Shazam! - 5.4.2019 - Grading and Discussion Thread

Joker - 4.10.2019

Birds of Prey - 7.2.2020

Wonder Woman 1984 - 5.6.2020

The Batman - 25.6.2021

The Suicide Squad - 6.8.2021

Black Adam - 22.12.2021

DC Super Pets - 20.5.2022

Aquaman 2 - 16.12.2022

The strongest rumors so far for movies likely to enter production are The Harley Quinn Girl Gang Movie a.k.a. possibly Birds of Prey, which should start shooting early next year, The Flash, rumored to no longer be based on Flashpoint, and Batman, with or without Batfleck. If any of those (or perhaps some of the other 20 announced to be in development :D) are hoping to hit the theaters in 2020 we should start hearing some more concrete stuff about them within the next few months.
Interetsing that these pretty much came through , but some delays for some of these.

Also interesting that this current thread is kind of wimpering out after about 6 years (This one was started August 5, 20218). I might write about my thoughts on Aquaman 2 soon...i watched it weeks ago, but i think i am taking it about as seriously as Jason Mamoa did.

I'm sorry for Sasha Calle. As for Keaton . . . eh. I had said good-bye to his Batman a long time ago.

Satsfying with Calle in the ending. Pass on Keaton and joke cameos from Clooney.

Same.

In terms of nostalgia, I enjoyed seeing Keaton in The Flash. I grew up with his Batman.
But, having had both Bale and Affleck, I feel we got much better Batman's with the both of them. And I still feel that Pattinson's version was a very enjoyable take on the character.

I am not very well versed with Supergirl, but what Calle brought to the table was pretty awesome and I would have enjoyed seeing more of her.

I thought that Bale was a decent Bruce Wayne but an absolutely terrible Batman. Affleck was a decent version of Frank Miller's Batman, which I don't really consider to be the "real" Batman, just a (popular) Elseworlds version. Michael Keaton was a great Bruce and a great Batman, even if his films were weird and had a lot of very unBatman-like stuff. He's probably the best part of The Flash, while Calle is good as Supergirl too (although for live action I think that Benoist is the live action Supergirl).

I really like every live-action Supergirl to date with the partial exception of Vandervoort (I don't dislike her, she just didn't wow me). Holding out very high hopes for Alcock.

But, having had both Bale and Affleck, I feel we got much better Batman's with the both of them.

Although it took decades and one subpar-to-embarrassing Batman after another (West being a terrible low point), Bale and Affleck finally gave film the best younger years and mature Batman ever put before cameras. Pitch perfect in both cases, in and out of the Bat-costume.

Calle would have been a perfect, long-term fit as the Supergirl of the DCEU. I only wish she had been introduced early in that series' run. The only other great screen SG was Slater from the '84 movie, however, there's not much to say about the plot of the film (the Salkinds had been in the process of turning their superhero films into a kind of Saturday morning buffoonery for a few years up to that point).
