That is so cool.
Here's a fun Prodigy fact for you: if you watch two episodes a day, starting on an odd-numbered episode, you're almost always saving the better story for last. I'm not saying odd episodes are bad and even are good, but when you pair them up in that way, the even episode tends to be the best of the two.
(Kobayashi is an even episode).
If you have the time for it, it's a very binge-able show.
I will be curious to see your thoughts by the end.I really struggled to break into this show, but I think I’m finally getting there. Just finished watching Kobayashi.
I thought they might hold off on the Legacy stuff for a little longer, but it was nice to see some old faces.
The only thing I found distracting was that I could identify which episodes/movies they’d taken Nimoy’s voice from. Of course, by doing so, sometimes the dialogue felt quite forced at times, but so far… I’m finally aboard the Protostar.
I find I end up watching two at a time. One is just not enough. I’ll probably crack the next one on later.

For a show that’s branded Nickelodeon, there’s a very surprising amount of depth to the whole thing.
Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra were Nickelodeon shows. So it's not that surprising.
It's nice to see that it has the depth, though I'm not worried about depth so much as characters which were hit and miss and definitely hit odd chords in me.I know you had a hard time getting along with it as well… as I recall you got about as far as I did (about 4 episodes) before losing interest.
It’s worth it though. Nice show and having a motley crew on the bridge of a super advanced Starfleet vessel really feels like something new. For a show that’s branded Nickelodeon, there’s a very surprising amount of depth to the whole thing.

To be clear, and I don’t want to be a Debbie-Downer… I’m not yet seeing the all singing, all dancing best Star Trek show in years that many wax lyrical about, but I am impressed with the character work so far.
As of episode 7, it’s Dal and Gwyn who’ve had most of the limelight. The most recent one I’ve watched, First Con-Tact… the way that Dal finds he was betrayed really made me feel for him. Likewise with Gwyn and the Diviner choosing the Protostar over her…
So far, Jankom, Rok and Zero are cardboard but I’m sure they will develop.

Time Amok was the episode where we moved from "Kids Show" to quality Trek series for me. There were some good episodes before that, but I started feeling sympathy for the characters, especially Rok, and to see them finally come together as a family was actually more emotional than I thought. Everything else kind of just blended into place after that.I think Time Amok is where we start getting some character development beyond the main two.

I see no reason why those should be mutually exclusive categories.
They aren't, but for me, it became more than just a kids show.
See, but that's exactly the kind of condescending phrasing I object to -- "just a kids' show." Surely our mindset as adults should be that our children always deserve the very best we're capable of giving them. Children are important. Their entertainment should be too.
Just looking at it objectively, I have never found "adult" shows to be proportionally higher in average quality or intelligence than kids' shows. The only real difference is their levels of sex, violence, and profanity, and none of that has anything to do with the worth or quality of a story. There are countless grown-up shows that deserve to be dismissed with a "just," and plenty of kids' shows that don't.
Is fantastic. I enjoy watching it with my teens who love it.Bluey
I think it's just the Nickelodeon label and cartoonish 3D animation that give the initial impression of "a kids show", and that's all there is to it.
