Strucker in the comics was used as Fury's opposite number both in the Howling Commandos and SHIELD books. He was the original founder of Hydra in the books.

Thunderbolts trailer...not much there, but I hope--with some in-universe time passed (based on the appearance of Bucky and what he's doing, among other characters) this group will be more of a functional unit, because the trailer suggests the opposite.
I doubt it, they don't seem to me like the kind of group who's going to work together well right off the bat.
I wonder if maybe she's the mastermind bad guy then. I was looking through the cast list of Wikipedia, and none of the characters listed really jumped out at me as a possibility for the main bad guy.
Wasn't the second Von Strucker a bigger deal in the comics too?
Yeah, that was weird for Crossbones and Von Strucker.
But I actually liked how the Shocker (two iterations of him!) and the Tinkerer were all part of the Vulture's gang as a low-level nearly Sinister Six (that's how it's done, Sony!).
As for Crossbones, at least he got a second life of sorts in multiple appearances in What If...? (complete with Frank Grillo and everything).
We know Harrison Ford returns as Ross, although we don't know in what role and what kind of fallout Brave New World has on him.
Neither the The Marvel Cinematic Universe: An Official Timeline nor the timeline at the MCU wiki go all the way through The Marvels, but combining the two, one can extrapolate that it's been about 3 years since we last saw Bucky.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier took place in spring of 2024 according to the official timeline, which ends at the end of 2025 and the Guardians of the Galaxy Christmas special. According to the timeline at the MCU wiki, Secret invasion takes place in fall of 2026, and we know that The Marvels takes place just after that, which pretty much brings us to the end of 2026. So, given that information, I would estimate that Thunderbolts* takes place in early 2027. YMMV, of course.
The Daredevil: Born Again cast talked to EW.com about the relationship between Born Again the Netflix series.
They revealed that what they do acknowledge the events of the Netflix series, and there was even at least one scene where they reused the exact same props from the Netflix show, but it is done in a way that won't alienate viewers who haven't watched it.
One thing I forgot to mention after I saw the leaked trailer is that I'm a disappointed we don't appear to be seeing the gold suit from She-Hulk, I liked it and I was hoping we'd see it again in Born Again.

They were always going back to the red, I imagine. That said, we literally see the gold helmet in the leaded trailer. So the suit is still a thing, and who knows about an actual appearance. Holland managed to wear something like 4 different Spidey suits, or combinations of same in 2.5 hours of No Way Home. Given 9 episodes, who is to say we don't see Matt in more than one color?
Wasn't there a comment during the panel where they showed the trailer, that there would be three different Daredevil suits? The gold suit might still show up.
Like anything it can be well done or poorly done, but I really don't think this is a bad thing overall.
At the end of the day those roles were going to have to be filled by someone and the extreme amount of source material compared to the glacial pace of movie making means there's never going to be room to give all major characters long running arcs/endless recurring appearances.
Using them like this gets them on screen for a while at least, and in plenty of cases in ways that fans of the characters can appreciate even if they understandably would've wanted more. Meanwhile, it also prevents the MCU from having to churn out an endless supply of nameless supporting characters that no one will (want to) remember, generates little bits of extra publicity, and makes the film universe feel a lot more like the comics universe than it would if they were all just generic OCs. (And bringing the comics universe to life on film is the original mission statement of the MCU, after all.)
As long as they don't take it too far to the point of just slapping a random established name on any old OC like the fox movies too often did, it works for me.

This is the first I've heard about the show being set in Chicago. Even though I haven't been back to Illinois since we moved in the late '90s, I still have a bit of a soft spot for Chicago.

They are still doing a Ironheart show? I assumed that would be one of the shows that would be one of those projects they silently cancelled. Seems like a bad idea. Not really any interest in the character and I thought they were going to be cutting down on the number or shows they were doing. Surprised they would waste a slot on this show.
It's wrapped production quite a while ago I believe, and has been in post for a while. No idea why that is taking so long though.
My guess is they know it won't be a success so they are going to try and get out and forgotten as quick as possible. I bet every episode will be dropped on the same day like they did with "Echo." This show is something that was no doubt created when the people in charge were still in denial about how bad things were getting in the MCU. So they are stuck with it, while clearly putting more focus on the other stuff they got lined up. The fact that this show was even made is going to be news to lots of people, who even follow MCU news. Who even knew they even has a trailer at D23.
Ironheart probably has some role in the next Avengers movie.
