But Vulcan has no moon?

It might be a similar situation with Prime Chekov and Kelvin Chekov. They're both supposed to be the same person, but Kelvin Chekov was probably born earlier than Prime Chekov, otherwise there's a minor serving as a bridge officer on the Kelvinprise and Kelvinprise-A. Sadly, we probably won't ever see Kelvin Chekov again. :weep:

Spock said it on TOS. But of course this seemed to be contracted by depictions of Vulcan on the Animated Series, the theatrical release of the Motion Picture, and 2009's Star Trek (with Delta Vega). And as previously mentioned, Tuvok being born a lunar colony.

So far there’s nothing beyond Star Trek: Beyond.
And Star Trek: Beyond was set in 2263.

If Kelvin timeline Tuvok arrives at the same time his Prime timeline counterpart does, that's not until the following year. And he'd be an infant -- hardly an interesting subject yet for any Star Trek story. Perhaps it would be better if he were permitted a few years to grow up first.

Tuvok can be the Abramsverse version of Wesley Crusher!

I'm still irked that the Kelvin timeline hasn't had any expansion beyond the three AOS movies. I mean its a blank slate. Tabula Rasa. They have a whole new playground to play in and yet all they wanna do is play in the Prime timeline sandbox.

Paramount wants to do away with the Kelvin timeline (it's confusing the audience).

When they're watching a Star Trek film, they shouldn't have to ask "What timeline is this? Does this count towards anything?"

Yet one of the the biggest movies of the year, Deadpool and Wolverine, jumps between two established Marvel movie universes. And there's no way Deadpool is gonna be a big thing in Marvel's Avengers movie plans... yet somehow it's still a huge success.

I don't think it's confusing at all.

Star Trek (2009) started in one timeline, moved to another and had two Spock's. It is one of Trek's biggest box office draws.

It's not my decision.

What about someone who's new to the franchise and who hasn't seen ST '09?

There's a certain section of the fandom that says, "Kelvin Trek doesn't count as Trek."
They made TNG movies, and there was a very loud part of the fandom back in the day that insisted TNG wasn't true Trek. They didn't just post online from the toilet as people do today, they actually wrote letters by hand, put a stamp on it and stuck it in the post box.

Ultimately in any large franchise, be it Marvel, DC, Star Trek, Doctor Who, Whatever, then the hardcore fanbase are not the people the creators are worrying about.

A hardcore fan will most likely buy into something regardless.

When it comes to Kelvin movies, even my 75 year old mother likes them. She’s certainly not worrying about whether something counts or what universe they are in.

I don’t like the Venom movies and personally I’m not interested in watching them, but they do well, despite not being part of the MCU. Likewise, the first 2 Deadpool movies did well.

I’m sure there are people who aren’t even aware that Spider-man and Batman are from different lines of comics. To many, they are just superhero movies.

If you give an audience a story they can invest in, with characters they like, they’ll enjoy a movie. As far as Kelvin goes, half the job (the characters) is already done.
