Kurtzman intentionally killed Legacy?

Renaming the Titan to the Ent-G was one of the only missteps of S3 tbh. I'm sure they could work it into any future shows effectively though - make it clear they did it because most of the fleet was compromised, that they're seen as a stop gap etc etc. I think narratively, in the long term, making the Enterprise an "underdog" ship again rather than the most powerful ship in the fleet, makes sense. It annoyed me in Insurrection they didn't just destroy the Son'a ships.

Not enough crying or melodrama?
Plenty of melodrama. I mean, when you lead off with "secret son" and have Snidely Shiftlash as your villain you've won the melodrama gold right out of the gate.
And the memberberry patch....no berry unpicked.
All in the service of a paint by numbers and connect the dots plot that couldn't flummox a kid reading Highlights in a pediatrician's waiting room.
The crying was mostly from fans who got teary eyed with every manipulative callback.

It's simple budget and returns.
Legacy would need a lot of money to pay for the established actors, the VFX shots and the sets (even if some of those already existed) and pretty much only the old fans would watch it, the new comedy series will need a fraction of that, being a much simpler setup with relatively new actors, might actually attract new viewers and the old fans will watch it ANYWAY. Oh, some of them will complain like they did with discovery, but they'll still watch.

I just want a ship with a bridge which is actually lit. The reemergence of the D reminded my how much I missed a nice bright set.
Might I introduce you to the Bridge of the Enterprise in SNW?
