The unnecessary reboot/remake of the week thread

Really liked his "The Gentlemen" show. Has a lot of vintage Ritchie in it, with lots of influence from his earlier Snatch film with some extreme wackiness.

Yeah, enjoyed it too. It’s funny, there was that and Sexy Beast, both based on British crime movies, both launched around the same time (SB was on paramount plus). Sexy Beast was an actual prequel to the original film, whereas the Gentlemen was set in the same world as the movie. Both worth a watch.

Paramount+ gave the green light to an eight episode Dungeons and Dragons series. Then they dropped it. Hasbro is going to overhaul it and shop it around now.

Well it's not far off 50 years since the original, and almost 20 since 16 Blocks so it was probably time!

Love the show, but without Burton, I don't know if I'm interested. Never sat with me how they essentially West Winged the character.

They made Burton a regular and then didn't know what to do with her. Hawaii Five-0 had the same problem with Michelle Borth.

But the all-time worst has to be Gotham making Nicholas D'Agosto (Harvey Dent) a regular and only using him for three episodes. He still got paid for 22.

No, the all time worst is after playing a regular recurring character on Buffy for three seasons, Joss Whedon finally promotes Amber Benson (Tara) to the main cast only to kill off her character at the end of the episode.

I don't know. I think that is kind of smart. By putting her in the credits it creates a situation were the last thing you would expect is for character to die. I do wish they had been able to bring the character back the next season. I think with The First Evil being able to take the form of people who died they could have used her a great deal. In theory it would also be something that complicates Willow's feelings for Kennedy. To be haunted by the person you loved and the person who you murdered in Warren via First Evil mind games, I think would have been some interesting stuff.

There was a short-lived show called UC: Undercover starring Grant Show, only he dies in the second episode and is replaced by Oded Fehr. Which would be a shock for anyone who didn't notice that Fehr, not Show, was in the opening credits, as well as all the ads.
