Welcome to humanity?
You're new here, so I'll just say that this BBS is full of hypocritical projecting.
I'm a colossal TOS fan. In fact, it's my all-time-favorite Trek series. I also love SNW. And I see no glaring, immutable contradictions between the two.
There.
You're new here, so I'll just say that this BBS is full of hypocritical projecting. In short, it's only gatekeeping if the other side does it. SNW should be immune from any criticism whatsoever, but anything pre-2005 or PICARD season 3 can be subjected to 1000X the scrutiny, because reasons. Why do you care so much, bro? It's just a TV show. Trying to make things make sense in universe is just being a toxic fan and you're an old man yelling at clouds. Etc, etc, etc. Budget your time accordingly. Use the ignore option liberally. Best of luck!
Nah you're right, accusing you of gatekeeping just aggrandises you and grants you an authority that you don't actually have. You also don't have the authority to assert that no one is interested in that "timey-wimey shit" when you can't possibly know every single fan in the world.
OK, you don't have the authority to assert that most fans don't give a shit about the timey-wimey stuff then.I didn't do anything of the sort.
Common sense is just a collection of prejudices. But, I certainly can't compete 30+ years, impressive stuff.I has nothing to do with authority. I has to do with being around the fandom for 30+ years.
Also, common sense.
SNW is not the best thing ever so not sure why we think it is above criticism, because it sure as fact is not based upon reactions in episode threads. And not a single person has thus been able to share evidence of these things that are being stated. You're new here, so I'll just say that this BBS is full of hypocritical projecting. Not authority; just observation. Different stories will appeal to a lot of different people, but one thing that doesn't always appeal is the digging down into minutia of time travel.OK, you don't have the authority to assert that most fans don't give a shit about the timey-wimey stuff then.
Yup.but one thing that doesn't always appeal is the digging down in to minutia of time travel.

Subjective, which proves my point. After all, some of the best episodes and movies involve "timey-wimey" stories.
I most definitely cannot.Subjective, which proves my point.
And I don't believe you can determine if all fans consider those the best![]()

At best, we can only go by our experiences and observations. In my experiences, with the fans I have interacted with there is usually three different responses to the technobabble: indifference, overanalysis, or just moving on. The indifference tends to be the one I see the most.I most definitely cannot.
Yes. You'll get thereAfter 14 days I can edit posts, right? This is getting ridiculous.
