Trek writers: So we've just finished watching Book of Boba Fett, which totally destroyed that character's mystique and turned him into a confused hapless lost soul who has emotional hangups and has no idea what he's doing. Hey, let's go do the same for the Breen!

Fett is way better for the Book of Boba Fett than he ever was in the OT or Clone Wars. If that happens to the Breen then I will quietly applaud the writers.Trek writers: So we've just finished watching Book of Boba Fett, which totally destroyed that character's mystique and turned him into a confused hapless lost soul who has emotional hangups and has no idea what he's doing. From what we know, no other species uses anything outside conventional warp.Yeah, that is a plot hole in the ep.One thing that wasn't clear to me is when Burnham mentioned the Breen could track their jumps. If Discovery jumped to the Delta Quadrant, would it not take the Breen quite some time to reach them? This is all assuming the Breen are still using some type of traditional warp drive where traveling thousands of light years still takes a long time.
Between T'Rina and T'Lyn, we've gotten some of the best new Vulcan characters in this franchise for a long time. This was her best written and performed episode yet. She was terrific.
I have not read all the posts in this thread and i wonder if anyone had noticed that the Breen Imperium has some similarities to the Imperium of Man from Warhammer 40K. Besides having Imperium in their name, both have an emperor and primarchs. And also the Breen and the Imperium of Man are also openly xenophobic.
Fixed that for you.STDStar Trek getting some "inspiration" from other SciFi IPs? Wouldn't be the first time...
Sounds good. When does the first novel come out?The Terran Empire was never the same since the Spock Heresy. There will be 55 novels about it, and the Emperor then has to ascend to the Golden Throne to perpetually keep the Prophets from invading
Given the multiple workarounds shown in past seasons, especially transwarp conduits, probably not as much of an advantage than delaying the inevitable, as well as the fact that Burnham saw a future of the Breen decimating HQ. She has no reason to think they won't try it earlier. One thing that wasn't clear to me is when Burnham mentioned the Breen could track their jumps. Was waiting for another UK person to pop up as I know they wouldn't miss this!
n the 25th century the Federation was capable of building a planetary shields capable shrugging off hours of a full fleet bombardment. If the 32nd century refuses to do similar, that's on them.
More like history of Earth.STD getting some "inspiration" from other SciFi IPs? Wouldn't be the first time...

Warhammer 40k, because they are so originalMore like history of Earth.
Not sure what that's from but it also reeks of historical influences.

I think the chances Phillips was influenced by thousands of years of human history, fashion and art rather than a Video Game are pretty good.Warhammer 40K "Emperor of Mankind"

Never mind the whole flat cats rip off with the tribbles.Yeah, we'd have already had a copyright lawsuit against Paramount had it been THAT obvious.
When you word it like that, it makes it sound like they were only released on the period of 1995-2005, which is what can only be accurately labeled "late 90s" and "early 2000s." Which is a bit misleading for a continuity which didn't officially end until 2021, meaning they continued to be released throughout the entire 2000s, plus the entire 2010s and the early 2020s.The relaunch books were released in the late 90s/early 2000s. So what's your point?
I know you love them, but it's over, mateI know the books won't dissappear but the characters, that universe that many readers enjoyed is gone for good and we are the poorer for it.
I look forward to seeing Dame Judi Dench playing oneNever mind the whole flat cats rip off with the tribbles.
