I thought the point of streaming was watching whenever theI want?
That is a pro, but I liked when the collective eyes were watching Discovery all at once in prime time when it first streamed. Just a throwback to the past I suppose.
I was a tap it then watch it. I rarely watched it day of.

Moll and L’ak are looking for an ancient piece of technology which, no joke, can be connected to an episode of 1990s Trek in the most tenuous of ways
https://www.ign.com/articles/star-trek-discovery-season-5-review-episodes-1-4Hey, the Saurian Linus is very present on the bridge this season – with dialogue and everything! Get ready to hear about his people’s mating habits.
The season’s driving story is also very cool, and longtime Star Trek fans are going to a get a kick out of it.
Discovery is using Star Trek’s existing canon to expand the world in a really cool way this season, and I think a lot of other fans will be as pleased with that connection as I am.
https://blog.trekcore.com/2024/03/our-star-trek-discovery-season-5-spoiler-free-review/Season 5 feels much more confident in pulling things out of the Star Trek toybox and actually playing with them — making an important difference to ensure that the show isn’t just called Star Trek, but actually feels like a part of the Trek universe, too.
https://www.comicsbeat.com/tv-review-one-last-new-beginning-with-star-trek-discovery-season-5/Disco fans can prepare to be delighted by this final season, which confidently and unapologetically doubles down on the show’s distinct features while continuing to weave in more Star Trek lore than you can shake a lirpa at.
https://www.belloflostsouls.net/2024/03/star-trek-discovery-season-5-is-a-worthy-swan-song.htmlThere’s something out there. A technology. An artifact. Something that can help the galaxy or destroy it. Discovery has to find it before someone else does. It’s a little bit Indiana Jones, a little bit The Fifth Element, and a whole lot of a third thing we won’t mention here.
An episode of "The Next Generation" provides the lore at the center of "Discovery" Season 5.
https://www.indiewire.com/criticism/shows/star-trek-discovery-season-5-review-1234959806/We won’t say which one, but it’s a plot point that’ll inspire a good number of nods from the audience: “Yeah, why didn’t they ever follow up on that before now?” It’s a good example of internal continuity for the franchise organically inspiring a cool plotline, not just a callback for the sake of nostalgia.
And while previous seasons seem to relish in drawing out some of the plot mysteries, season 5 doesn’t waste time and starts opening up its presents right away.
And as noted before, if you aren’t a fan of those scenes when they stop the action to have a sidebar about their feelings, this show is just never going to let those go.
https://trekmovie.com/2024/03/11/ea...overy-flies-into-a-new-adventure-in-season-5/There are more ties into Trek Lore, ala Picard, a lighter tone with more episodic elements like Strange New Worlds, and even some of the optimistic enthusiasm of Prodigy.
I thought of posting a new anticipation thread the other day but figured we'd wait till April.(Reposting from the premiere thread)
