What is your personal head canon?

There's artwork going around on Facebook of the cheers cast in TWOK uniforms sitting at a bar in the spacedock viewing lounge with Morn from DS9. In my head canon this is an actual thing: A member from Morn's species used to join Captain Morgan Bateson and an unnamed Starfleet officer at the spacedock viewing lounge in the late 2270s for drinks and social interaction.

It could be Morn. Heck, Norm Peterson may have went through some kind of horrific accident post-Cheers and is actually Morn.

Yup. That is where my train of thought came from.

There was a TNG novel I read too about some living sand or something like that I think it was called Descent or something it felt like a very similar episode of TNG but more fleshed out.

Maybe one of the 32nd-century Lurians we see in DIS S3 at the Mercantile is also Morn... he was a courier like Book after all.

My Headcanon:

• All shows and movies except STD. Lower Decks exists, but is exaggerated for comedy sake ( Mariner is NOT so negligent that she almost cut off Boimler's leg). JJ Trek is it's own universe, as is SNW.
• All of Diane Duane's major books (Rihannsu, plus her Vulcan books + Wounded Sky)
• John Ford's The Final Reflection
• The Enterprise finale also does not exist.
• The "Eigth Season" of DS9, as broken by the writers for the anniversary special, exists.
• The Emmitt Till class, as designed also exists.

I'm probably forgetting or am on the fence about a few other things, like Peter David's Vendetta, and the Star Trek: Continues fan films.

I remember when they released the concept art I did see a few comments on forums that questioned whether the name would be appropriate for what can technically be a ship of war. But Till’s mother left the casket open at his funeral because she wanted people to remember what had happened to her son, and it to be seared into people’s memories.

And Ira Steven Behr’s explanation of why they chose the name is based on the idea that humanity hasn’t forgotten.

So, if I’m living on Federation earth 300 years from now it would make me feel good to know that as Starfleet sails among the stars Emmett Till is sailing along with them. He is remembered. We own his story. He is part of our journey.​

It would be an interesting conversation/scene to explain the name to an alien species. They might ask if it was named after a warrior. And then the captain has to explain the ship carries the name of a murdered child and why.

You might also have to explain to anyone who's not from the United States, because I've never heard of Emmett Till.

Going off on a tangent here, but I really miss the days with Star Trek novels had these truly beautiful painted covers. Most the covers now look like they’ve been knocked up in 10 minutes on photoshop.
