I do wonder if it’s only because they probably want to maintain good relationships with Mamoa that they haven’t done this. As it is, it looks like they’re just about paying it lip service.
Because I'm a masochist I'm actually going to see it next week, and there's three seats sold for the big IMAX screen for next Wednesday. Which is making 'The Marvels' look good by comparison.

I guess I don't follow the right sites or channels or whatever that a big premiere makes a big difference to me. I would livestream those small events and just go intimate, Wan and Momoa seem cool enough to carry it off.

The original Aquaman, released at about the same time on the calendar, would be #8 in 2023, based on straight numbers. SO is it fair to assume they won't get anywhere near that for Aquaman 2?

idk, there's such a poisoned well that I am unsure of reviews. It feels like everyone is sitting around with their matches waiting to light the fire. I know ideally a critic should be immune from such things but it seems like everyone's needles have been moved a bit to the left making it harder for anything to impact.
Not saying Aquaman 2 is great I just am not sure anything will get a fair shake these days. If nothing else, I think people are looking for something that seems fresh and the stuff coming out will have something to prove. Better be exemplary or stand out from the crowd in approach.
