She also got clobbered in a pie fight.I think for Vera, we saw a pair of legs on the stairs at Cheers once.

I heard that story too.Audiences asked at the time if Maris would be like Vera, oft mentioned but never seen. The show runners said "No no no of course not." But when they started to think they should show Maris they realized that they could never cast anyone who could live up to what they had written.
My favorite Maris joke ever was on the Simpsons. Cecil's first appearance. Lisa leaps on Cecil's back to tackle him and covers his eyes. He says "Maris?!?"
If they did delude themselves they did it early. As I mentioned I recall at the time of the first season airing the creatives, whoever it was, said "Yes, this is all fun but of course we'll show her at some point."I heard that story too.
I think it's a bit bs, since I just started a rewatch and in the sixth episode with the fake painting, the way they had Maris laying in bed under a pile of coats, at Frasier's during a party, suggested they never really thought about having her cast....
The show runners may have deluded themselves...
Far more than one episode. I think she was a reoccurring character in the final season (and oof...she was quite something).IIRC, Cliff’s mother in Cheers was initially another much-discussed but never seen character, though they finally did introduce her in at least one episode.
She was a recurring guest star, going back to the fifth season, for a total of seven appearances.IIRC, Cliff’s mother in Cheers was initially another much-discussed but never seen character, though they finally did introduce her in at least one episode.
I rewatched season 1, about 10 years ago, but I haven't seen the most of Cheers since it first aired. She was a recurring guest star, going back to the fifth season, for a total of seven appearances.
Never heard that once but who knows what horrors reddit has wrought since the show went off the air.Is it a popular conspiracy theory that Cliff is Coach's love child?
Vageuly. It ended when I was in the 7th grade and I don't think I followed it that religiously.Does anyone remember the commercial spots they did during the last weeks of Cheers' last season with Frasier introducing all the NBC shows and analyzing the character's problems?
In episode 6 "Blind Date", Frasier letting his insecurities ruin the date felt straight out of the OG Fraiser series. He says "I still got it". Yep. He is still a screw up with the ladies.
It showed growth that he wasn't going to reuse a Flintstones plot to appease two beautiful women.
Yes, but he still lost both women.
That was so much funnier than it had any right to be. Freddy's reaction with a look of "What world do you live in?!?" sealed the deal.It showed growth that he wasn't going to reuse a Flintstones plot to appease two beautiful women.
