Frasier revival

Yeah well, his life derailed a bit due to the events happening in or around that bar, so much so that he "fled" to Seattle. I figure we will get a direct cameo sooner or later as soon as they can get Ted Danson or any of the other regulars to appear. Personally my favorite would be Woody as i love Woody Harrelson in everything he does.

Biggest cameo though would be David Hyde Pierce, I hope they can convince him to appear just once.

I have a Theory.

David want's Niles to come out.

Cynthia Nixon "lobbied" to switch Miranda's sexuality, on Sex and the City, so why can't he?

Oh?

Did I just say "Why can't David Hyde Pierce Lobby to switch Miranda's sexuality on Sex and the City?"?

Sorry.

I doubt David want's to be dragged back into the closet.

David dragged back into the closet? Niles is straight, not David. The actor isn't the character. The reason I've seen him give for not wanting to return is that he feels Frasier is a product of its time and it shouldn't be revisited because it belongs to that earlier era. He has complained about other rebootquels coming out and even if they are successful felt they damaged their legacy by their existence. Not because he is out and Niles is straight. Nor have I seen him say Niles is closeted. He's said he performed Niles as a straight man and that Niles being thought of as "gay" by some one off characters due to his personality was a purposeful commentary on how those stereotypes are ridiculous and straight men (Niles) can have those characteristics just like gay men.

No one has the characteristics of the Crane Brothers.

Tiny, one of the firemen who works with Frederick, is played by Kevin Daniels. Daniels played the memorable barista Steve in the episode "Farewell, Nervosa" of the original Frasier.

Another terrific episode and I loved how we continue to see layers underneath Alan's boozy apathetic veneer. The "You locked me in a room with no door!" reveal was brilliant as it was underhanded.

And David finally has a good storyline focused on him, even if it started off a little shaky. I did love how he managed to pick up a girl without even realizing it.

They finally listed him as a teenager.

I'm not sure why I have so much difficulty tracking this kids age.

I was there when he was born.

May 13, 2004...

He's 17?

I still think Eve should have thrown him a bone and made out for him for ten minutes.

He's 17.

On Desperate Housewives, Eva Longoria's character was boning a 17 year old in exchange for free lawn care, but she was a monster.

A short monster.

I'll be a little disappointed if they do a relationship thing between Freddie and Eve, mainly because it's obvious and there are no real impediments other than their own hang-ups. Of course, any attempt at a long-running courtship on this show is going to look lame next to Niles and Daphne, so they can't win...

I was intrigued at the degree to which Freddie unconsciously assumed some of his father's tics and general air of pomposity while trying to coach David. That's observant on the actor's and, to some degree, the writers' part.

Honestly, I'd rather see Olivia go for Freddie than the Freddie/Eve thing.

I enjoyed this one. I bet that if they end up going for more than a couple years, David won't be consistent with the version we have been seeing in these first episodes.

Another fun episode. Alan continues to make me howl with laughter regularly. In particular, Frasier mentions going to Cheers in the past, and Alan says it's "Where no one knows your name!":D

Freddie helping David learn how to date was hilarious, particularly at the end when just casually talks to a potential love interest!

Won't be the same since Olivia is supposed to be at Yale, over a hundred miles away so it won't be as forced as it was when we never saw Maris, who was apparently around but off screen several times at least. Can't remember if it was like that with Vera- I don't think they ever spoke as if Vera was at the bar but off screen.

Audiences asked at the time if Maris would be like Vera, oft mentioned but never seen. The show runners said "No no no of course not." But when they started to think they should show Maris they realized that they could never cast anyone who could live up to what they had written.

My favorite Maris joke ever was on the Simpsons. Cecil's first appearance. Lisa leaps on Cecil's back to tackle him and covers his eyes. He says "Maris?!?"

I think for Vera, we saw a pair of legs on the stairs at Cheers once.
