Frasier revival

Just watched episode 4 and laughed a few times, particularly at the people at the fire station thinking David was adopted!

The quiz made me smile because instead of giving the right answer when he knew it instantly, he chose to tell a funny story. :D

Alan was also hilarious, ordering his next drink during the quiz.

I'm really enjoying the show so far. The characters are coming together more and more. Especially Fredrick and Alan. I'm liking Frasier and Fredrick scenes and Frasier and Alan scenes the best so far.

Watching the latest episode, finally name dropped Lilith. At least, he didn't remark on the drinks being frosty cold like his ex.... in front of Freddy

I wonder also if the character Moose is named after the original dog who played Eddie?
Good question. Didn't catch that.

I wonder if cheers is going to get name dropped or mentioned?
It kind of was implied in the first episode, not by name, but Frasier clearly was talking about Cheers.

Yeah, it would be cool to see that bar, 30 years after we had last saw it. I'm assuming Mahoney's and where Frasier is living now is in or close to Harvard/Cambridge, so a bit outside of downtown Boston, a bit out of way for Frasier, who I assumed was practicing relatively close to Beacon Street 35 years ago, not working in Cambridge.

One of those days, He'd go into town...maybe.

I loved the fourth episode. A very tender take on how Frasier truly feels about Freddie's work as a firefighter, focusing on how he and Niles felt about their father as a cop when they were kids. I figured this would be the case and I'm glad the show didn't wait long to address it openly and directly. Moments like Frasier's confession to Freddie is what made the original show so good and I hope this new show continues to hit the right balance of snobby humor and emotional tenderness.

I was less thrilled by David's storyline, although it did hint at the nature of his relationship with his parents and I hope that's something they'll focus in the near future (but I guess only with Daphne maybe appearing?).

I likewise assumed the firefighter named Moose was named in honor of the dog. That's who I thought of immediately.

I caught a preview for the show yesterday and P+ and, man, did the show's production values look bad. The lighting, etc., seemed like a really bad TGIF level sitcom.

Yes, implied not name dropped, with a disparaging tone as if it was a really bad habit or probably because he associates it with his time with Diane and Lilith....

Yeah well, his life derailed a bit due to the events happening in or around that bar, so much so that he "fled" to Seattle. I figure we will get a direct cameo sooner or later as soon as they can get Ted Danson or any of the other regulars to appear. Personally my favorite would be Woody as i love Woody Harrelson in everything he does.

Biggest cameo though would be David Hyde Pierce, i hope they can convince him to appear just once.

Plot idea: The Cheers bar did not survive CoVid. Norm was getting his life together anyway, so he moved on and away. But he still likes to have a drunk now and then, so he shows up at Mahoney's one day, finds Frasier, they catch up, and he seeks life advice and parenting advice from Frasier, which in turn, can help out Frasier in some way.

That was by far the funniest episode to date. And by FAR the funniest David bits.

"You locked me in a room with no door!"

I admit that I just kind of expect Alan to be hilarious. But Freddie is really starting to grow on me. Of course he has as much to do with the character on Frasier as Frasier's dad had to do with the character on Cheers. ;)

Production levels look fine. Sure it's filmed in HD but it looks fine.

Still loving it. Episode 5 was the best so far. Fraiser and Alan make a great duo. Alan is definitely the breakout character. The show is getting better with each episode.
