Something from outer space threatening life on earth is nothing new. I suspect they just want the title for name recognition and the movie won't even resemble the original.
Simpler to make ARMAGEDDON into a musical.

Funny. I remember a few years ago the only roadblock was we were in the early days of the pandemic when production of everything had been shut down, but once people were in studios again filming stuff the BSG reboot would begin casting characters and we could expect it on TV a year or so afterwards.Apparently Peacock TVs Battlestar Galactica reboot is still a thing according to its producer. Now that the Writers strike is over, scripts are being developed/written and they expect to start casting once the actors strike is over.
To be fair, Edgar Wright is a more inventive and imaginative filmmaker than Len Wiseman.Edgar Wright is remaking The Running Man. Supposedly it will be more faithful to the original Stephen King story since it won't be an Arnold vehicle this time. But that's what they said about the Total Recall remake.
I love DHWAV. 4 has a decent enough plot and part of the problem with it is that McClane doesn’t swear and another is that he’s too invulnerable. But I remember sitting in the cinema watching the scene where McClane stands on a car and watches the havoc unfold around him, thinking “John McTiernan would’ve done SO much more with this.”I think Len Wiseman's PG-13 DIE HARD outdoes the third and fifth installments. (What movies don't outdo the fifth?)
We can agree on this. But after HOT FUZZ, BABY DRIVER and LAST NIGHT IN SOHO, I'll just say give Wright whatever he wants.
I had (and am interested) though I wasn't aware there was a trailer.Apparently FX is remaking Shogun. I had no idea until I saw the trailer.

I'd just watched the Chamberlain version a couple of months ago,
Here's the trailer for the fourth entry in the new 'Planet of the Apes' series by 20th Century (Fox). It comes out Memorial Day 2024, taking the slot of 'Deadpool 3'.
Is Samuel Jackson still slated for THE BLOB re-remake?
Dr. Phil is returning to television, but it's going to be on his own brand new cable station, Merit Street Media. So I guess it's a good thing that a lot less people will be listening to his pseudo-advice?
