Spoilers AHSOKA series [Spoiler Discussion]

As long as crewman is subscribing and watching, I don’t think that Filoni and Disney really care that it’s “hate watching.” Crewman can call the writing stupid, but it effectively elicits the desired behavior from him.

“Ha ha ha, look at that idiot playing me like a fiddle.” — Crewman

There's a "hatewatch" selection on my Roku just for such instances. Directly informs the studios and creators why I'm watching.

No, I said I meant shit as a general term, I was not calling his writing shit. I've been loving Ahsoka so far, and Clone Wars and Rebels were some of my favorite parts of the franchise.

Nice try. Freudian slip of the keyboard. We know the truth! Haha!

Sounds like that would have even worse pacing than the Ahsoka series.

Considering the Ahsoka series has no pacing issues, that means we're good. :D

I know in your opinion the series is highly flawed, but personally I do not see any of the issues you mentioned. As for pacing.... With some exceptions, I don't really think pacing issues exist in general. It depends on one's own personal preferences. High paced story telling, or something slower perhaps. So yeah, if in your own frame of personal preferences, the pacing of Ahsoka is wrong, I will accept that. Me, I think it's fine the way it is.

Wouldn't be surprised if Huyang was in the Dawn of the Jedi film. Droid is over 25 millennia old.
That would make a lot of sense. I wonder if his personality would be radically different.

More David Tennant the better!

(Thank you for the age correction, I couldn't remember the exact 'incredibly high number)

And claims to have 75% original parts.

News flash: they don't care. They have the money and the views. That's it; that's the bottom line.

When I worked in retail people would bitch all the time about not being able to use coupons on certain brands, that were always in the "Excludes" section. They'd loudly denounce this practice. And then come in the very next week and purchase more.

This is a business. If numbers go up, they make more. They go down, they look to make something else, or just make less. You can hate watch it all you want; Disney just calls it "watching."
Sooooo...anyways...

We all agree Huyang deserves a prequel series that documents his millennia of existence, right?
No.

Irritating idiosyncrasies of a droid.

I'm thinking more along the lines of a collection of short stories like the "Certain Point of View" books, maybe a short run comic series, or an episode of TotJ. Just a nice little collection of vignettes. Nothing too crazy, but 100% must include at least one featuring young Padawan Yoda.

The trouble there is that right now they probably have everything pre-High Republic ringfenced and don't want to define too much Old Republic-wise until they at least have a solid lock on what 'Dawn of the Jedi' actually looks like. So if they do anything like this prior to that project being well on the way, High Republic is likely as far back as they'll go with it.

For context; that number is a fairly recent addition having popped up in the new 'Timelines' book a few months back. From an interview with the author of that section is sounds like it's just something they made up, so storytellers aren't obliged to go along with it. That's just the reality of the fluff/publishing end of things.

Prior to that, the only clue we got as to his age was a line in Clone Wars where he mentions having been on that ship (The Crucible) for a thousand years. So all we really have for sure is a minimum. Though the fact he still calls Yoda "Young Master", is a pretty solid indication that he's a lot older.

There presently is an animated show set in the era of the High Republic. I know it's aimed at younger children, and I only watched the first episode in order to hear Tom Kane's replacement as Yoda, but it still canon, right? An appearance from Huyang would seem a natural fit.

I don't much like it myself, but I suppose I can see why they went that route, because he says: Call me what you want, but inside my memory banks I contain a record of every lightsaber ever made and the Jedi who fashioned them.

(For the record I have the same issue with Han Solo and the Lost Legacy. Though I've heard it suggested that Daley thought the Republic was only a thousand years old.)

So when you’re always the only one laughing at your jokes, do you conclude that it’s because you’re the only one with a sense of humor?

Wow. It really is a difficult concept for you.
