Spoilers What other "special episodes" do you want to see on SNW?

So, it turned out the crossover-with-a-cartoon episode is only the second craziest premise this season - we will get a full on musical episode!

Now, YMMV obviously - but I have always wished for something crazy like this. I loved that TOS had a Halloween episode. I absolutely adore Stargate's 100. and 200. episode about the "Wormhole X-Treme" television show.

For me, Star Trek is not hard sci-fi. At the end of the day, it has to be emotionally honest & mature. But I dig it if it goes creatively off the rails sometime.

So, after getting the musical episode already out of the way in season 2, what other "special episodes" would you like to see?

Here are my picks, in no particular order:
  • a Halloween episode (traditions!)
  • a non-canon episode (set in present day, with the same actors in completely different roles, Anson Mount as a crime-noir detective solving a case, bonus points if it involves aliens)
  • a "retro" episode: Using all and only the original sets, models, props & costumes from TOS, but otherwise 100% canon
  • a fully animated episode
  • a "short-stories" episode: 3 or 4 small, unconnected tiny plots
  • a crossover episode with a completely different franchise (superhero, crime or historical show)
    • A Dr. Who crossover
  • A "what if?" episode
  • an episode with none of the main characters appearing at all (e.g. a story involving Robert April chasing Harry Mudd)

What I DON'T want to see:
  • a Christmas special - would normally be in favour, but Dr Who oversaturated that for me
  • a sitcom episode with a laugh track - that's just nasty

I don't care that time travel is an overused story element, I want an Enterprise crossover. The reverence this show has shown to the NX-01 and her crew has me wanting it more then ever.

Yes, it would be cost prohibitive, and will probably never happen....... but I want it. I don't care how, I just want it.

A Dr. Who crossover
Yes, please

Pelia’s version of “Carbon Creek”, starring the NX-01 crew. I’m not even asking for Romulan War, as I’d be more than okay with seeing them in another unexplored period - the very early days of the Federation - even if its just a reunion in 22nd Los Angeles. But let’s finish the story.

1883 crossover, with the crew of the Enterprise meeting their ancestors in the Wild West in the late 19th century.

Flashback episode: What Pike what doing while DIS S1 was happening. Yes, this deals with the Sheliak and I’ll keep asking until it happens.

Lost Era story: Chapel and Una are recruited by some time travellers and must portray younger versions of Lwaxana Troi in different, but pivotal, stages of her life on Betazed.

Quantum realities.

Note that I am not looking for the mirror universe, at least not yet. As that could be its own separate season, and if anyone could pull off a season set solely in the mirror universe, its SNW.There are different episodes I have in mind.

Twilight, part II - interspatial parasites force Una, Spock and Pelia to navigate a galaxy nearly a hundred years after humans have gone extinct, having been wiped out by the Xindi.

The 23rd century version of the Confederation of Earth timeline, starring General Sam Kirk of the CSS Enterprise, General Jim Kirk of the CSS Farragut and General Michael Burnham of the CSS Discovery. With a fully human Spock as Senator Grayson (with goatee ;)), son of Confederation of Earth President Amanda Grayson. Their ‘Mirror, Mirror” episode.

What ifs?

What if…Spock was born Romulan and raised by the Romulan Commander from “Balance of Terror”. Is there a Romulan version of T’Pring? What about a Romulan version of Sybok? Does he go on to have a long lasting, fruitful relationship with the female Romulan Commander in “The Enterprise Incident”? What is taught about humans, Vulcans, adn the Federation in that reality.

Tomorrow’s Enterprises: Captain April, first officer Pike and second officer Una jump to the future as Captain Riker of the Ent-D, Captain Raffi of the Ent-F, and Captain Shaw of the USS Ent-G attempt to fend off a couple hundred Borg cubes in a proper Borg invasion of the Federation in the early 25th century lead by Borg Queen Seven of Nine. Which caused by the same time of displacement that displaced the Ent-C. Basically, a what if the Ent-D crew did not save Picard in BoBW.

A “Far Beyond the Stars” type episode would be fantastic depending on what type of “cultural” or “societal” issue they want to address. Like equal rights/civil rights was done on DS9.

The short stories would be a good one too. Sorta like The Simpsons “22 Short Stories…” episode that gave us Steamed Hams.

I would like to see a “Rashamon” type episode. Where we see the same story presented from 3-4 different perspectives.

Ohh. I think Lower Decks didn't something similar, everyone was on a long warp trip so they followed around the different characters during their down time.

That could work here too.

yeah, I think that was Wej Duj. The one that showed all the different ships Lower Decks too.

Ooh, I like this idea.
JAG did this in their eighth season entitled "Each of Us Angels". Its set during WWII and all of the main cast portray different characters instead of their usual ones. It's actually the only episode of the series where none of the main characters (Rabb, MacKenzie, Roberts, Chegwidden) appear, just their actors.

The episode where they explore a strange new world and meet fresh, new aliens with a cultural or some other kind of twist that puts the ship and crew in peril, requiring them to work together to achieve a satisfactory conclusion.

One not focused on any particular character, their arc, angst, relationships, or growth. Something that leaves me in awe of the wonders of space and infinite diversity in infinite combinations.

Yanno, some of that exploration shit.

I know the original Twilight Zone and Supernatural both did episodes where the characters end up as actors on the series they're staring in. Could be played for drama or comedy with everyone playing exaggerated versions of their real life selves.

They do that all the time. So, not really that "special".
