So did Spock & the other characters all forget how to read? Or was it just Spock forgetting how to read English?
Yes. If Archer was Bakula's age, He would have been born around 2105. Assuming his great-grandparents were 75ish-80ish at his birth (assuming they were alive), they wouldn't be adults until the mid to late 2040s, not to mention the great grandfather had senior ranking in that story Archer told meaning it happened...maybe closer to 2050s, or he was an older Dad, but still born in the 21st...It was great grandfather, of which he had 4.

I don’t think they specified. It should probably be the latter since the old guy in the planet could read the name tattooed on his arm. I’m not sure if Ortegas looked at her pad once Spock said that. I suppose we could always use the “weird space phenomenon effects Vulcan brains differently” trope as well to explain it.So did Spock & the other characters all forget how to read? are we sure abou that? I remember him explaining: "this symbols on my arm are my name" and later, at his hut "those are the same symbols that are on my arm, so this means this is mine!"the old guy in the planet could read the name tattooed on his arm.

she's the pilot. she flies the ship.We got more Ortegas but still not enough to know her yet.
she's the pilot. she flies the ship.
what more do you need to know?
Data was on Ops. Miles, Geordi, Wesley and Ro flew the shipShe'll become just like Sulu soon. Data flew the ship but we knew loads about him. Come on man
see? we learned a lot about her. she is a pilot, she flies the ship, she wants to go on a landing party, she likes hats. She likes hats.
I suppose that we could chalk that up to Pike thinking they were more monstrous than perhaps they were in reality because of the sudden attack and crewmember deaths coloring the memory the Talosians used for their illusion. The Kelar warriors didn't look as menacing and weird as the one we saw in the cage.
also, he probably didn't really remember how they looked likeI suppose that we could chalk that up to Pike thinking they were more monstrous than perhaps they were in reality because of the sudden attack and crewmember deaths coloring the memory the Talosians used for their illusion.
I thought that one of the benefits of Spock's second visit to Talos IV was that the Talosians cured that for Spock?Didn't discovery give Spock space dyslexia also? No wonder he couldn't read after the radiation
Personally I could do with less, but that's just me.We got more Ortegas but still not enough to know her yet.
