The Enterprise from the S2 Poster. Look how bright she is.

IIRC they did say they tweaked the lighting this season so the Enterprise was more visibly gray vs metallic

It kinda reminds me of the long-range Copernicus shuttlecraft from TAS. (Presumably it has the same forward section so they can utilize their existing shuttlecraft cockpit set.)

Neck seems curved a little, which I think is new

There's usually a flat spot on the lower neck, where the refit put its torp launcher, that seems to be missing. [IMG]
Could just be the image and the dulled out colours on the the poster playing trucks with our eyes, but it definitely does appear to be slightly modified.

It 100% is modified. The lower sensor/weapons cluster on the saucer is much more pointed like it was in TOS, the neck is more curved, closer to the TOS style Enterprise.

Then again it may be an optical illusion from these angles.

I like the brighter lighting, but the aztecking looks really overdone here. Very muddy. Can nobody do subtle anymore?

I suspect in lower and less direct lighting it will be. This is more or less the 3d model thrown into a rendering box.

Why? Star Trek likes it's over the top! It's called acting ;)

I think the Saucer is still the same, we're just getting a bit of an optical illusion because, for whatever reason, they removed the darker, inner saucer coloring.

It's just for the poster as the darker patch AND the flat spot on the neck still appears to be there on the actual show.

I'm thinkin' that it's just another occasion of artistic liberty.
It just has to convey the feeling of the ship on the poster, not be an exact replica.

My favorite thing about the Eaglemoss model of the TOS-R Orion ship is that they made those spinny ball things look exactly like the amber glass globes on the ends of spikes from a lamp my parents had when I was a kid, so I could see the original effects artists making that ship using parts from that lamp back in the 60s.

I wonder if they would ever further the Lower Decks crossover by showing a live-action Cerritos in an epilogue scene of Mariner and Boimler analysing the season or episode's events post hoc.

I'd love a sneak peak at a live-action USS Cerritos!

Is the VFX team the same for S1 and S2?

I wonder what the spooky spaceship shrouded in the black haze is? The way it’s ribbed reminds me of the nuGalactica.
