Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

Yeah, I missed out on NOMAD, which I stuck into my cart largely on impulse, so I’m not too bummed.

Did get Ty'Gokor station, which was my main goal.

Also, MR put up the TOS Jeffries concept, not the Phase II version.

Yeah, XL Voyager and the XL Nebula class are gone already too.

Voyager was gone within 60 seconds, the Nebula within three minutes. And perhaps surprisingly the OV-165 went REALLY quickly as well, which was the only one in this batch I was interested in. Oh well, can't miss what you never had I suppose!

Hopefully, the Caretaker's Array next week doesn't disappear so quick. On the one hand, it's never been officially released, but on the other, alien spacecraft have never sold as well as Starfleet stuff, so who can say?

I guess there was some kind of ordering glitch with the XL Enterprise E. But MR tweeted out that large quantities of it and the Enterprise F would be out by the end of July.

Most of the unreleased stuff has sold out in less than 20m. Maybe the only exception was the XL Stargazer, which origanally sold out immediately, but when it was restocked a couple days later lasted for like a week.

Then there's the Space 1999 Eagles that were gone in like 5m, which I found a little surprising, considering there are other models currently available.

Got my Vancouver. I had no idea it was going to be as large as it is. And unfortunately it is also missing its blue deflector. I’m assuming there’s little to nothing I can do about that.

20 minutes is fine. I'm always refreshing the browser right at 3PM (my time). The last few times, I've been done within 1-2 minutes.

Oh thank God! I was hoping for something like this. I’ve been quite crestfallen about not being able to afford many of these this time around. Money’s been tight for me this year thanks to runaway inflation and other silly things I should probably focus on more like the mortgage and food for the family.
:ouch: :sigh:

That's been the intention from some quarters since Eaglemoss went belly up.

It's not really a case of if new ships get produced, but when.

it’s going to be interesting to see what ships they put out first. If it’s a new company, with new molds I could see them starting at the beginning with the 1701 Enterprise, the 1701-D, Voyager, etc… If it’s MR and a direct continuation of the Eaglemoss line, I’d bet they start of with the Stargazer, Titan-A, Shrike, etc…

It's gonna be weird when we eventually start adding ships to the line if the quality is way better than the dozens we already own. ...if they do previously released ships but with all the improvements we were crying out for all these years, it's gonna be hard decision time. :D

There’s a lot to unpack in that tweet thread.

First that there were 500 XL Voyagers that sold out in what seemed like approximately 60 seconds, and 1250 Caretaker Arrays for the next drop, so those won’t last for more than two minutes, so plan accordingly fellows…

I also found it interesting that they mentioned MR has a parent company, which as far as I’m aware isn’t entirely true. MR’s owner is a director at Forbidden Planet (a UK nerd store), so maybe that what they’re alluding, as I believe FP has made stuff under license in the past. (My suspicious mind thinks it’s probably some misdirection to continue distancing themselves from the fact that MR stole something like $2 million from people not all that long ago.)

Curious how making new models will compete with Corgi’s plans. If it happens, it sounds like CBS is continuing their strategy of multiple licenses for essentially the same products so that no one will likely be successful.

I will. No dawdling like yesterday, which may have cost me a model.

If they want to produce models en masse and cheaply, I can't see them upgrade the quality higher than what Eaglemoss brought out. Except for resolving the window misalignment by leaving out physical divots.

If they did up the ante, then I could imagine more ships have the detail of the STO Collection models. Those were the most detailed ships Eaglemoss released.

It would be neat to let Corgi & co dabble in the Usual Suspects while MR continues with the Eaglemoss line and brings out all new hero ships.

I could see MR going slightly more upscale.

They have good data for each of the staggered releases, where it seems like the XLs sell out almost immediately, with the Disco/Uni/Specials lasting a little longer and the original Collection/Bonus size lasting longest. Of course, this may simply reflect the numbers of each they had to start, but it could very well mean that resuming XL hero releases at a better quality (selling for around $100-120) is the best way to go (leaving the mass market stuff to Corgi).

is there a current link to their website? The first post in this thread goes 404
This thread is ancient, that link is to the original Eaglemoss site. That company went out of business, but the final stock produced by them is being sold at masterreplicas.com
