Spoilers Starship Design in Star Trek: Picard

Those etchings have been replaced with 4k screens that will cycle between different ships for Season 2.
I was remembering someone behind the scenes saying those had been changed out (after saying those two ships weren't there at all), but it never actually happened at any point during the season.

While not Picard related, it does give some nice views of the Odyssey model used in Picard.

Yeah, he forgot when the swap was done. They were filming Season 2 when Season 1 was airing so I could see where the confusion came from.

Drexler uploaded bunch of angles of his Excelsior II concept model

If only STO's gameplay wasn't so clunky
I've tried getting into it three or four times now. I want to enjoy it. But I find the introductory gameplay and the UI both to be impenetrably abstruse to the point where it feels more like a chore than a diversion. It was already clunky for 2010 when it released and now 13 years later gameplay standards have only moved farther ahead.
I keep wishing that maybe it's not as arduous as I remember, but then I redownload it again and give up within a day.

Might try going through that song and dance again this weekend...

Yeah, once one gets used to the quirks and the brain gets used to them, it becomes second nature and generally unnoticeable.

It's when developers try to change things for no good reason is when bad things happen.

I'm no stranger to MMPs but I just can't get into STO no matter how many times I've tried.

I just wanna have FPS (or centered 3rd person if necessary), and would like space battles to not last > 30 min like it's SFC

I’ve never played it, but my buddy did when it first started - I recall his complaint being, “It’s ‘Star Trek’, I want to explore some planets, not have space battles.” Not sure if it’s changed much, but that was enough for me to lose interest. However, I am glad they partnered with GamePrint, because I do like that aspect.

Did Geordi ever command the Challenger for real? It would be interesting if he did and broke it and then used components to rebuild the E-D?

Geordi said in "Vox" that he used the stardrive section from the USS Syracuse, not the Challenger.

He says nacelles and engines, which maybe is the same thing as stardrive, or it's like a frankenstein of pieces. It's probably just the Syracuse but it also doesn't really matter. I'm more interested in did Geordi command the Challenger to be honest. Geordi's future has been like a multiple choice question. Did he write those books?
EDIT actually it is just the Syracuse.

There’s plenty of time for him to have commanded the Challenger for a period. He must have been a captain at some point to reach commodore.

Possibly he was Captain Worf’s first officer on the Enterprise-E for some time, and then was promoted to command the Challenger. He could have brought up his girls on the ship before taking on the ground assignment at the museum.
