Which I don't mind, but it should've been a new design of ship; something I thought Seven deserved.Seven getting Enterprise was the LAST thing I ever expected
Who knew that the woman who once made a career FIGHTING Enterprise would one day end up COMMANDING her?![]()
I do remember Shatner addressing it during an interview on The Howard Stern Show back in the late 90s. The way Shatner talked about it, Takei really, really, really wanted Sulu to be a captain of his own ship, and he didn't understand it. And, it's a radio show where they're trying to be funny, but the way Shatner described it made Takei sound delusional about the whole thing, like making the character a captain was like achieving a real rank, and that it made no sense narratively, since it would divide the cast and put Takei shooting his scenes away from the rest of them.
Shatner has been aware of how the rest of the TOS cast feels about him for a long, long time. I believe when he wrote Star Trek Memories , James Doohan refused to talk to him for it (I think Doohan is quoted as saying: "I like Captain Kirk a lot, but I can't say that I'm very fond of Bill Shatner.") And for the longest time, Shatner's closest friendship with the cast was with Nimoy, but supposedly there was some sort of falling out between them before Nimoy's death.
I used to sympathise with Takei, but in recent years I think Shatner has taken the lead. Shatner is off going into space and actually being kind of a decent perceptive guy about it, whereas Takei seem sort of obsessed.
The piloting scene reminded me not so much of star wars but of the run through the sewer tunnels in the Matrix sequels. But the 'beacon' looked an awful lot like the power core in return of the jedi, and the Borg Queen was like a cross between necro Palpatine and Snoke.
Takei has made other things his primary objective and identity. Star Trek for him is just kind of an afterthought now and a wheel to grind his Shatner axe on
They're definitely fulfilling which I like, and knowing our heroes are okay and maybe... just maybe... they may return from another adventure, if the idea is right. So glad not one of the TNG main crew died. We got data back and the 1701-D. Terry really created a happy ending that all these characters deserved as well as the fans. When Kirk was killed it seemed empty. It just never works out. Same with Star Wars. Killing the legacy characters just doesn't work because it leaves a bad feeling that never goes away especially if the death is idiotic or anti climatic or if the hero is a failure that leads to his/her demise. Nope I prefer a happy ending and that poker game hit the spot. Nice work.
Maybe, but this isn't a good look: https://pagesix.com/2021/10/14/star-trek-star-george-takei-slams-william-shatners-spaceflight/
I wasn't meaning to speak of Takei's conduct favorably, I am simply trying to tread lightly and not be insulting.
Does anyone else have the feeling Seven is going to channel Capt. Styles with an “Execute”?
That would be so cool if she did that. I can imagine her saying it.Does anyone else have the feeling Seven is going to channel Capt. Styles with an “Execute”?

just glue a cortical implant thingy on the port bow of the saucerSomething a little... cuby?
Hahahaha! A new starship design, something advanced and futuristic. I would be open for a Seven/ Raffi spin-off, commanding the new Stargazer.Something a little... cuby?
Nanoprobes Son.Imagining Laris somewhere out there cursing in her Irish accent makes me giggle.
Seven was clearly armed on the Titan with a phaser and a set of hair curlers, can imagine her stopping mid phaser fight to restore those blonde curls which never felt affected by the crazy goinga on around her
Their budgets are not shrinking for shows, but the belt tightening means fewer shows will get a budget since they won't exist. Star Trek seems to be an exception so far.I don't think StarFleet only has 7,000 ships for defending so much territory.
I think that was a proto-type networked fleet that Admiral Shelby had test trialed and now we realize the error of her ways.
Given how vast StarFleet is and how many people are serving within StarFleet at any one time.
7,000 ships is a rounding error.
Does anybody know why Paramounts budgets are shrinking?
Star Trek should be doing well enough on it's own.
Shows like Discovery and SNW have roughly the same budget, but the money goes further because they're shit in Canada. You can actually see the difference in how great they look.
It looks to be 20-30 miles wide!Oh HELL NO!

The Armada Fusion Cubes are TINY compared to this Queen's giant Radio Tower Cube.
This Cube is closer to Death Star 1 size than to Armada Fusion Cube size.
A Standard Cube is ~3 km along each side of the cube (Might be off by single digit meters given all the greeblies).
A Fusion Cube is just a 2x2x2 array of Standard Cubes = 8x Cubes joined.
That makes it 6 km along each side.
The Borg Queen's Radio Tower Cube ain't 6 km given how large the Galaxy Class is.
