Stargate SG1 25th Anniversary

sg1-0109-1c2-jpg.29548

I miss shaggy-haired/pre-action hero Daniel.

If they bring SG1 back maybe someone will reboot Firefly.
Firefly is dead. Joss is now known as a sexual predator who tried to get Carpenter to abort her baby. True or not, ain't nobody going to pick up that guy's passion project. Firefly is officially done forever. Just be thankful we got a nice wrap up with the movie.

Why do people ever get significantly invested in celebrities? The idea of a fan taking up the mantle of celebrity "defender" is dumb, dumb and did I mention...dumb?

The idea of SG-1 going on an extended (heavily-armed) starship tour to all of the races/species that pissed them off/and or threatened them when Earth was still new to intergalactic exploration is kind of funny.

Wait. What? Are you accusing me of being a blind celebrity defender because I called out Whedon?

Nope. Logically speaking, how could my statement be a criticism of your own statement? That makes no sense.

I was thinking of the times when I would say "You know, it's not impossible that so-and-so celebrity - accused of whatever offense - is actually guilty. It wouldn't be the first time the public is surprised." and people would get outraged. No accusations on my part, mind you, just me commenting that something is within the realm of possibility; famous folks have their foibles like everyone else.

Because celebrity comes with a certain amount of expectations, of being elite and above others. People get taken in by the culture of celebrities because it appeals to this idea power. It's as dumb as people finding inspiration from science fiction franchises for societal development. How dumb is that?

I'd prefer a series (even a mini one) over a movie any day, but at least it seems to be closer to actually happening this time.
I'll go back to my stasis-pod ;)

Well everyone loved Lord of the Rings and The Tick lasted 8 seasons. So what could go wrong?

I'm not sure what I want from a new Stargate series/movie. I don't really want to lose all the years of lore and history we've built up with the various shows but I also think by the end the Earth was starting to get a bit too advanced so it might be nice to get us back to being the underdogs with modern tech again.

Star Trek Las Vegas should invite the cast to join. We are already getting Orville. RDA seems to be doing conventions recently.
