Introducing a new antagonist for the sake of novelty isn't always the best or most appropriate storytelling device. I wish fans would understand that.

I agree. They did plenty of hinting for this and we here at TrekBBS guessed it awhile back. But I wish they would have focused more on it earlier to make episodes 6-8 move a little swifter and actually develop it more as opposed to the first part of the finale introduce the Borg at the literal last minute.

I have to say I am entirely unconvinced of Founders working for the Borg. They are as much a world-ending threat the them & the Dominion as for anyone else.

It really feels like two completely separate, unconnected villain plots. The second one of them completely underdeveloped and out of left field.

The Founders are not, they're not supporting the rogue Changlings.

Odo specifically warned Worf about it on behalf of the Great Link. This isn't a Dominion operation.

Well these weren't the Founders technically, these were renegade Changelings disconnected from the Great Link. But I agree, I don't understand why the Changelings would work for the Borg other than they didn't know they were working for the Borg. I wonder if all those Changelings impersonating officers got killed off in the takeover.

Great episode, and it was great to see the Enterprise-D again, but since it uses the same saucer section that landed on Veridian III, I wonder why her bridge looks like how it did in the TV show instead of the renovated bridge in Generations (where it had new side stations and such).

These are nutjob Changelings disconnected from the Great Link wanting revenge on the Federation.

As well if the theory that the Borg are wrecked technologically and can't assimilate anymore via technologically then this DNA scheme is the only way for the Queen to rebuild her forces, and iirc Changelings don't have DNA and probably were impervious to assimilation anyway due to their nature.

I think over 25 episodes (90s series style) we would of had a better drawn out story where we can learn about all the nuances of the protagonist, antagonists etc. I just think the 10 ep format is difficult for writers and viewers alike for an action sci fi show.

The bridge in Generations went through some shit ya know...the side stations basically ceased to exist.

Also because clearly the 2363-2370 bridge is what gave Geordi the happies
