Introducing a new antagonist for the sake of novelty isn't always the best or most appropriate storytelling device. I wish fans would understand that.
So is the finale a standard 45 mins? Feels a little short to wrap up the story!
I have to say I am entirely unconvinced of Founders working for the Borg. They are as much a world-ending threat the them & the Dominion as for anyone else.
It really feels like two completely separate, unconnected villain plots. The second one of them completely underdeveloped and out of left field.

Sleep! So Jack's a 'transmitter', which probably means that he'll end up transmitting a shut down command to all of the Borg, possibly via the Ent-D somehow, in the final 10 minutes of next weeks episode!
It's a good thing they are not then.I have to say I am entirely unconvinced of Founders working for the Borg.

Man, leadership at Starfleet are really bad about spotting potential threats or security issues.
Great episode, and it was great to see the Enterprise-D again, but since it uses the same saucer section that landed on Veridian III, I wonder why her bridge looks like how it did in the TV show instead of the renovated bridge in Generations (where it had new side stations and such).
