I've never really been on the "Armourer is up to something" bus, and I don't see that changing now. Gideon was visibly surprised to learn that those two Mando groups had joined forces, and it was done specifically at the behest of the Armourer. So she's obviously not a collaborator. Also remember that time when she beat a bunch of Gideon's men to death with a hammer? It's not like that was for show since she was the only one there.

I would had his helmet come off before he died. Give the guy underneath some face credit.

That would be a betrayal of his character tantamount to desecration, given his religious beliefs.

I wouldn't be surprised if The Armorer intends to interrogate the survivors she's flying up, for starters to find out what they know about the Great Forge. I would expect her view of the survivors to affected by the knowledge that Imperials are stationed on the planet, which she'll learn by the time the Stolen Fleet is attacked.

Todd, Ralph, I more recently remember him as Gregory. Shouldn't have made an enemy of Maggie, Gregory...

And he was Helen's jerk husband in the original Candyman. XB has played a lot of jerks!

I mean fiction, and in fact real life, is full of people who are enemies right up until they're not.

You could be right, and I actually hope you are, but there's something a little off about how she's played and how she's shot the last few episodes so at the very least I think Favreau wants us to think she's suspect. Her shift in attitude might simply come down to B-Katan having seen the Mythosaur or to the way she has grown as a leader? Guess we'll know next week.

If I had been told before seeing his performance that he would play Pelleon I wouldn't believe it. He so not who I would picture playing him.

But he nailed it so dam well I knew who the character was before the name drop.

After all, he went down like an absolute boss. He's a true "alpha" warrior.

Indeed. I never really liked it in TESB or ROTJ (I can't remember which) when they just switch him off because he's annoying them. He's less than a slave. They treat him as equipment. R2 less so, for some reason.

It's a pity that all of this is becoming a lead up to the godawful Sequel Trilogy and especially the atrocious "The Rise of Skywalker". What a waste.

Not saying it couldn't happen, but the Armorer (And Swallow) have become such fan favorites that It would be really surprising if they did a 'she's a baddie, actually' with her. And neither Filoni nor Favreau really strike me as being big prescribers to the whole "Kill the baby" ethos.

Like The Clone Wars, The Mandoverse is attempting to recontextualize a Trilogy to make it better than its three films could provide. It may work with the addition of the proposed films coming down the line.

Liked the episode a lot, although Moff Gideon must be pretty inept because if he's had that Imperial base on Mandalore for as long as it seems; you'd think he himself would be aware that Dinjarin and Bo returned to the planet weeks earlier and not have to wait for Evil Agent X to Holo-comm him about the Mandalorians. And you'd think he'd have his Imperial Mando squad go recover the Dark sabre when Din was there alone and captured by that mech-creature earlier in the season.

Still, really enjoyed this episode; and I hope the finale doesn't end on a downer - and I hope Season 4 in confirmed.

This is exactly the type of STAR WARS entertainment I want.

I imagine with all the atmospheric interference it hides ships not only in orbit but landing. We don't know that the Forge is anywhere near the Mines though either. They wouldn't have needed guides to the Forge otherwise.

I am kind of surprised Gideon or one of the troopers didn't intentionally yank his helmet off while he was dying. What better way to really twist the knife in than to deny him the dignified death he wishes at the last moment and have him feel no dignity in his last moments?

Liked the episode a lot, although Moff Gideon must be pretty inept because if he's had that Imperial base on Mandalore for as long as it seems; you'd think he himself would be aware that Dinjarin and Bo returned to the planet weeks earlier and not have to wait for Evil Agent X to Holo-comm him about the Mandalorians. And you'd think he'd have his Imperial Mando squad go recover the Dark sabre when Din was there alone and captured by that mech-creature earlier in the season.

Wasn't Gideon still in New Republic custody when that went down?

I hope Season 4 in confirmed.

Agreed. Yes, there were elements in the ST that could have used more fleshing out and I welcome it.

I don't think the Praetorians are wired that way (which may be more literal than I really meant it.)
They strike me as fairly passionless efficient warrior types. More in the direct, rigid, efficient, and hyper-disciplined Echani martial mentality than the knock-down, drag-out Mandalorian style.

He obviously knew Din and Bo were tight when she didn't immediately kill him on the bridge of his ship to claim the sword, and he knew they'd both been to the surface because he'd dispatched his fighters to bomb her castle while they were gone. It's likely the interference from the bombings affects Gideon's base, too, and he has only a limited view of what's happening around the planet, so he could've missed a single fighter coming in, or not tracked it to where it landed.

In any case, the news was that Din and Bo had convinced their respective factions to ally with each other.

Because R2 never gets that annoying. And Luke seems to treat droids with more respect than just about anyone else. But if R2 was getting up in Leia or Han's face, you can rest assured they'd shut him down.

Moreover; last time Din & Bo landed by the ruins of Sundari. This time they went to the ruins of the old capital (Keldabe in Legends) which could be on the other side of the planet for all we know. Also from what she said it was underground, which would make sense that during their warlike days they made their capital city an underground bunker with a giant forge.
