Spoilers Who is the mastermind in Season 3 of Picard?

So melty face was in fact our good friend Locutus who needs Jack to be reborn into the 25th century.

In a way this is a Ghostbusters II rip-off..

Major spoilers.
It's confirmed to be
the Borg. Armada of cubes and all.
.

And a promising season dies with the absolute worst case scenario. Ugh. Oh well, at least the nostalgia hit a sweet spot. I'm out, not even going to bother watching the last two now.

Hey, I have an idea...why don't we watch it instead of condemning it whole cloth? Good grief let's try to have some damn famous Star Trek optimism rather than playing a freaking dirge!

Because the last three episodes have been increasingly weak, and my time investment has actual value for me. I'm not wasting it on something that I'm not going to enjoy. And this I will not enjoy.

You do you. I hope people who do enjoy the episodes do, in fact, enjoy them. I've got no problem with media not being for me. This is not for me.

Personally I look at this spoiler as a total win. It saves me from bothering. And if it hypes people that are still into the story, then more power to them.

I think it makes sense and I don't hate it.
The Borg were a big part of TNG, Picard has personal ties to them and they were part of the first two seasons if this show, using them again (and maybe bringing Agnes and her good borg faction back) helps make this season feel a bit more connected ti the rest of the show and not just a TNG reunion.

Peace out. I have no interest in this either but I'll not condemn a story that I have largely enjoyed, aside from minor misgivings, based on hearsay.

You do you.

In treklit, the editors and authors made the best decision possible with regards to this problem faction - after one final big bang, they were removed. It was to an extent liberating, especially given how much of a millstone they are.

I have really found this season sooo disappointing, and have tended to vote about 5 or 6 for most episodes. It's fun, but it has been hampered in many ways. Little glimmers of world building have been exciting, but others havent.

When I went back and reread the ideas posted during and after S1 by Chabon, I loved how much more expansive they were - while there were thoughts about prophets, Bashir and Garak, etc - he was also thinking big, on the consequences of these world shattering events of the past (the Dominion, the former Borg, the romulans). I just wish that world building was still here - things like the mystery box idea of romulans Chabon and Beyer developed and which Una McCormack expanded on was beautiful, as were other ideas. Some things didn't work, but I do miss that bigger world of S1.
