The way they keep name-dropping Janeway, there's no way she doesn't show up eventually.

I really want to believe that, but the way Terry denied it on Twitter saying that she was the exclusive property of Prodigy makes me doubt that she will actually show up. He has no reason to lie about it. If she was in it he could have just said nothing.

Maybe her Prodigy version will show up? :-D

People have posted things without tags in the spoiler threads as soon as the episodes are released for years now, and today it is a problem? Why was it not a problem for the previous 100 episodes? :D
If you don't wanna see spoilers, maybe looking at spoiler threads about the episode you wanna avoid around the time the episodes drop is not such a good plan .

As a UK based fan, watching fans in the US lose their shit because something is "spoiled" a couple of hours ahead for them, or indeed losing their shit when we in the UK got to see an episode early (yes some did) does nothing to dispel the stereotype of sheer fucking entitlement..... and that's not to mention fans in countries without the ability to watch at all yet.
Be a bit sensitive.

Too soon. There was no direct contract with the Dominon until after.
Direct yes.

You think the Founders weren't aware of the Federation almost immediately after the discovery of the Wormhole? I bet they started infiltration within months. With Enterprise referred to as a "flagship" it would be a big early notable target.

She'll show up in the last scene of the show, and fade in as a hologram.

"Admiral Janeway, I was beginning to think you'd never come."

"I was always here, Jean-Luc. You just were not ready to see. Come on, we've got a ways to go.

would you be ok, and have you been fine so far, with posting spoilers when the episode is released, at a time when it is usually released and can be expected to be out?

Changeling: And now I'm going to avenge myself on you for all the indignities of the Dominion War!

Tuvok: It is illogical that a changeling would not even do basic research on the person he intends to replace. You should know that not only was I not involved in the Dominion War, I was thousands of light years away in the Delta Quadrant.

Changeling: Ok, whatever.

Changeling, walking back in after thinking about it for a second: You do realize that I have a hatred for the whole Federation and the individual actions of any one person are not going to be a deciding factor in how I treat you. You know what racism is, right?

Tuvok: Racism is illogical.

Changeling: So's revenge. And...?

The forum rules specifically state ...

"For the purposes of discussing Star Trek: Picard in this forum, the spoiler threshold will be reduced to two weeks. That means that plot details for new installments should be spoiler coded for two weeks after an episode first airs in the US, if they're not posted in a spoiler-tagged thread where they can reasonably be expected, such as the discussion thread for a specific episode. After two weeks have passed, plot details can be discussed openly in any thread in the forum."

TUVOK!!!

Ahem. Sorry for yelling, but seeing Tuvok / Russ again - even though it wasn't Tuvok - was beyond brilliant for this Voyager / Tuvok fan. Loved it. We'd better find out where he is and he'd better not be dead.

So much happened in that episode. Again. Tremendous stuff, even though I'm quaint enough in my views of Trek / the Federation that I'm very uncomfortable with the notion of (presumably) section 31 experimenting on living beings. The utter creepiness of those scenes didn't make up for their content (not sure that makes any sense, but anyway).

Great scenes with Beverly / Picard, Picard / Jack and Geordi / DataLore. Never ceases to amaze me how easily and definitively Spiner switches between the two. Burton was great, too.

What the hell is Jack??? What's the "better place" Vadic - who is still waaaaaay too far over the top for my liking - plans to take him to? If it's not Irumodic syndrome, what the hell is it with Picard? Who / what is the face? (Not a changeling, but what?)

So many questions. Not many answers. Really hope they can sort all this in a satisfactory manner in the time available.

Will have to watch it again to come up with something more coherent (I seem to be saying that after every episode ). In the interim, I'll see what everyone else thought.

I've got no problem with folks typing out their thoughts and ideas after having seen the episode whenever that occurs.
I was just pointing out that it would be nice if pics were posted under spoiler tags for the first few hours or a day after the episode hits.
Just as a common courtesy.
It's not like one can skip over or avoid them while scrolling through.
And yes some folks do read the thread simply to see if the episode has dropped yet.

About the Tuvok pic...this is the spoiler-tagged episode discussion thread. Talking openly about what's in the episode is exactly what it's for. Don't assume you can hang out in here for a pre-show party until the last minute and not be subjected to spoilers. All the more so in this case because it was known that the episode dropped early in the UK.

Ok I know they had to shift gears a bit and do some set up, there was some good stuff in the first few minutes but this was for me the weakest episode so far…….but they’ve been on quite the roll. Can’t wait to start getting the big reveals over the next month. WTF IS JACK?!

Heh ... most folks wouldn't have known that until reading this thread ... and the pic popped up right in the middle of that revelation.

This is the episode-specific one. You know exactly what you can expect to get spoiled about.

The revelation that the episode had dropped early in some places was before 10 p.m. EST on p. 2 of the thread. The pic of Tuvok was posted over 4 hours later, at 2 a.m. EST, on p. 3.

2 a.m. is definitely going right up to the line. And strictly speaking, it would have been fair game if people who'd seen the episode had wanted to start discussing it at 9-ish p.m. That's what this thread is for. There is absolutely no ambiguity on that point.

This was good as basically expected at this point, albeit a little cliched. I have a hard time with episodes like this that do nothing but set up the next one while giving some back story.

So Jack's secret will likely come out next week. Looking like the "Irumodic syndrome" could be Borg related. He can clearly network with people and control them. Not sure if this is general or if he needed to somehow spread his tentacles. Was there any contact with him and Laforge 2 in the previous episode that could have lead to the passing of some bio-nano probes?

Also looks like the original changelings could be the main threat, though that is not a given. Just before learning that Vadic spread her altered physiology to some opens up the hand guy as a possible changeling when originally it sounded like he was a different species. He just has a different physiology from Vadic which means anything that isn't a changeling with Vadic's ability.

I am struggling with the Picard DNA thing. He is a golem now and shouldn't have the same DNA. At best it is some kind of copy, but his Golem body would have unique features. Certainly any scan would look to detect some identifier in his actual physiology, not the DNA copied from his dead body. I guess I can accept it for what it is.

Fake Tuvok was cool. I hope we get to see real Tuvok or at least hear that he is not dead. When they faked us out with Seven and the Kelto thing, I thought the place she was talking about would bring us to Picardo because my brain is just on some terrible fanwank kick due to all the fanwank.

DataLore is kind of bugging me. Why is it only Data vs Lore if Soong and B4 are in there too? Or was it Lal and B4? I forget the details. My guess is that the other parts will be key to how this all ends up.

That was a definite step up from last week's. Looks like "The Bounty" is the only sub-9 so far for me.
