Latest acquisition!

Hey, Therin, did you notice your photo behind the bar in the holo-Ten Forward in this week's Picard episode, in the scene where Picard pours Jack a drink? It's the same shot as in your avatar, but more full-length and facing the other way. Therin finally made it to canon!

Yes indeed! But did you look a little higher? ;)

Therin actually appears twice, and in the top pic with Grol of Tellar, in my first ever attempt at Photoshop when I first started dabbling with it and realised both cosplay pics had been taken, several months apart, in front of the same wall!

And a cardboard phaser from the "Star Trek Action Toy Book" by James Razzi is now also canon...

So what's the story here? I take it they arranged it with you?

There was a call for cosplay pics on Twitter towards the end of Season One, but we weren't allowed to know how the pics might get used. Non-Disclosure Agreements and waivers. A rumour broke out before Season Two premiered about "pics on a noticeboard", but we didn't know what it meant until the "Entertainment Tonight" photoshoots promoting Season Two.

I only just found out about this one (below) from the finale of Season Two, "Farewell", when we were all so busy looking at the photo of Rios! (Thanks for spotting, Aaron Harvey!)

I posted my plush previously:

Sorry for missing that! Looks like that was back in mid-January. I don't remember now if I just missed that entirely at the time, or if I saw it, but assumed it was one of your custom creations.

A few days later, he morphed into a new guise on the show! Grrrr. I preferred him as a youngling.

Me too, TBH.

A friend suggested the episode should become a drinking game, but you've have to insist on using synthehol. ;)

I really need to send a thank you note to Director Jonathan Frakes. Last season, I briefly corresponded with Production Designer, Dave Blass (the instigator of the cosplay pics request), when I was content with being a blurry blob behind Picard, but it really was rather crazy this week to be in focus, and so often!

Big Trek haul this week: three IDW comics, "Star Trek" #5, "Star Trek: Resurgence" #5 and the new mini-series, "Defiant" #1. Also two novels, "Star Trek: Harm's Way" (Gallery, December 2022) by David Mack in trade paperback, which also continues events in the "Vanguard" saga; and "Strange New Worlds: The High Country" by John Jackson Miller (Gallery, February 2023) in hardcover.

I did - and he "liked" it on Instagram. ;)

Just picked up the @GeekFilter alternate "Strange New Worlds" cover, too (IDW, Issue #4). Love it - and so reminiscent of the pre-release "Star Trek - The Motion Picture" poster, which featured the "Phase II" version of the USS Enterprise.

I was surprised to find a (not-Trek) novel by the President of United Earth! Stacey Abrams' "Rules of Engagement" (Berkley/Penguin, 2023) was originally published under her pseudonym, Selena Montgomery, in 2001. (The "suggested purchase" of Mego Worf arrived with some other Amazon purchases this week.)

Thanks! I have always liked that view point - pretty much any Connie-like ship looks good at that angle! I had a lot of fun with this cover.

I needed two of the alternate covers for IDW's new "Deep Space Nine: The Dog of War" comic: a wraparound baseball piece featuring the "Lower Decks" characters with the Niners; and a group shot with the titular "dog of war", Latinum the corgi!

Also out are the DVD and Blu-ray sets of "Strange New Worlds" Season One. (Yes, completist.) Also a "Star Trek - The Motion Picture" 8" Mego action figure, which Amazon suggested as an additional purchase last time I bought some books online.
