Kirk makes some sense in-universe. He's one of the greatest legends in Starfleet history and he died after leaving a temporal anomaly to join Picard 78 years after history had recorded him dead. The Department of Temporal Investigations must have had a field day looking over his body after exhuming it on Veridian III.

So why is Daystrom keeping the body of Capt Kirk?

I can only make out some of the writing but I see something called Project Phoenix which means they maybe trying to Resurrect his Glorious butt (and i would love for Paul Wesley to play him.)
If Kirk's body is linked to his tangential essence in the Nexus, I can see them trying to resurrect him in some crazy scheme. And they could try the same thing with the Picard body.

I'm reading a lot of awards, and then: officially injured while assisting Picard on Veridian III, body recovered by Project Phoenix. Injured - not died?

So I guess Kirk will appear in E10 then :D

If that's true then that would've been the best kept Secret in this age of Internet leaks.

Seems a bit nonsensical to keep Picard's body for resurrection when Section 31 can just appropriate Picard's synth body when he "dies" and forcibly reactivate that. Starfleet must have known something dangerous about Picard's original body. But what could that possibly be?

And why would Starfleet want to resurrect Kirk? TOS Kirk who made speeches about the beauty of natural humanity and the evils of artificially trying to control people? That Kirk? He'd probably refuse to do what Starfleet wanted in disgust the minute he was resurrected and realized what happened.

That's where the awkward CGI Deepfaking comes in and they restore him to the way he looked at the time of his death on Veridian III. :shifty:
