Blast from the past re-cast

I wasn't so sure about Ann-Margaret as Kira, but I just wanted Ann-Margaret in there somewhere. :)

Roger Moore-Jean-Luc Picard
William Shatner- William Riker
Madlyn Rhue- Beverly Crusher
Louise Sorrel- Deanna Troi
Angela Cartwright- Lesley Crusher
Clarence Williams III- Geordi LaForge
John Amos- Worf
Yvonne Craig-Tasha Yar
and Miss Lucille Ball as Lwaxana Troi

Nooooo! Moore as JLP? OMG that's some stretch! Imagine The Drumhead with Roger Moore. He'd have grinned and hand-chopped Ms. Satie. No speech required!

For a laugh:

Jim Carrey as Captain Jonathan Archer.
Salma Hayek as Deanna Troi
Catherine Zeta-Jones as Captain Janeway
Michael Douglas as William Riker
Denzel Washington as Wesley
Al Pacino as JLP
Robert de Niro as Senator Vreenak
Meryl Streep as Data's Daughter Lal.
Clint Eastwood as, of course, Kirk
Ben Affleck as Spock
Matt Damon as Sarek
Natalie Portman as Michael Burnham...etc

Data as Data

Please consolidate your thoughts into one post from now on. Posting too many times in a row can be considered spamming.

That makes me think...if we draw from the actors on TOS...how about Diana Muldaur as Troi? If I'm not mistaken she'd be the right age back then.

Honestly, it would also be really cool to have Diana Rigg as Tasha. But I'm not sure they would have been able to get her and it would be criminal to underutilize her, so there'd have to be writers on board who'd be willing to really capitalize on her.

The second season was mostly jlp vs the doctor. Diana Muldaur was perfectly cast. It's unfortunate that she didn't want to continue:
"My name is Data, not Dataah"
What's the difference?
One is my name, the other is not.
Ohhh!
"Data, Daahtaah. Whatever."

Had disagree. The second season was not "Picard vs. the Doctor" and it's not unfortunate that she didn't continue. Never liked Pulaski.I don't enjoy characters who are racists.
But in regards to Diana Muldar it's unfortunate she wasn't cast in a different role.

I think racism (or speciesism) and religion, despite EWR, are the two basic problems that ST as a whole tries to address, which is also what makes it great.

I don't know if Pulaski was racist, but she was certainly different. She was also willing to learn, change, adapt and, most importantly, pay for her mistakes. Her conversation with Troi and her arguments with JLP should be proof enough.

How the hell was she a racist? Or has that word just lost its original meaning at this point of everyone using it for everything?
She had trouble understanding that a single man-made machine (not a "race") might be a sentient being, because it had never happened before. She learned that she was mistaken, that a preconceived idea could be wrong, and she changed the way she thought about him. It was a lesson the show was teaching the audience.

I never called her racist Forbin. In fact I was arguing the opposite point. And I love your post. Thank you.

Recast TOS:
Steven Hill: Captain Pike
Peter Graves: Captain Kirk
Barbara Bain: Number One / Christine Chapel
Martin Landau: Spock
Barbara McNair: Uhura
Greg Morris: Dr McCoy
Leonard Nimoy: Chekhov
James Shigeta: Sulu
Sam Elliot: Scotty

I realize that recasting TOS might seem like a difficult mission, even impossible, but that's what I came up with.

edit: Peter Lupus as occasional red shirt victim and Apollo.

There is Spock. And Kirk.
Then there is Picard.
Then there is Data. Or Janeway.
Then there is Sisko.
But finally there is
Garak!
vs. Dukat!

Star Trek at its greatest.

No, you weren't.

Nowhere in your quote did you argue otherwise
