According to Doug, it’s a triple nod to Dorothy Duder, scientist James Duderstadt, and the German town.Do you know why "stadt" was added to her surname?

Yeah, I'd love to see the Sentinel and Repulse classes show up on screen.I really hope that they keep using Bill’s designs for SNW. I really would love to see some in the TOS era that were designed for the TOS era. His ability to make TOS appropriate design language while making it not feel kitbashed is uncanny.
Daystrom looks like Jupiter station with additional stuff

Right? SNW is my era. I'd love to be able to contribute something. Anything!Yeah, I'd love to see the Sentinel and Repulse classes show up on screen.

That show could really need your expertise. Might've spared us the Sombra class BS.
He'd have been slapped down by Fuller just like Eaves was.Or all the Starfleet ships from DSC season 1.
He'd have been slapped down by Fuller just like Eaves was.
The TOS aesthetic was a big NO-NO as far as Fuller was concerned.
Too bad Bryan didn't get pushed out sooner, we might have actually gotten a couple of round nacelles in the first season.
Yet, that is what he approved. From what I understand, Fuller just wanted angular nacelles. He didn't say to make the ships completely unrecognizable from the TOS Enterprise.
Yet, that is what he approved.
(for the short time he was there)
I'm mainly talking about how he wanted the overall Era to look.He said to make the ships look nothing like the Enterprise?
Indeed. Made the Enterprise pop more when it showed up.I'm mainly talking about how he wanted the overall Era to look.
Which was specifically counter intuitive of what we saw in TOS.
Round nacelles was just one aspect of that he rejected.
Afaic both Eaves and Fuller are at fault. It ain't the first -or last- time on record that Eaves has drafted up stuff that looks entirely inappropriate for its era, and yes Fuller had to sign off on those godawful eyesores he came up with.
