So why when the shrike moved forward outside the nebula was there a holographic word plate that popped up in front of it that said Daystrom. Anyone notice that?

I noticed some kind of writing, but couldn't make it out. Interesting...

Do you mean this:

Marked "DI Daystrom Institute of advanced robotics"

Probably the stolen tunneling device that was used as a weapon, and that Worf and Raffi are looking for.

That's it. It's at 21 mins. Yeah I was thinking it was the weapon and maybe a tag for it but why hadn't it shown up before? Weird.

PS: how did you screen capture that?

Well it looks like the ones of us that Iiked Shaw the whole time were right. He was affected by the borg attack as a young officer and had a beef with Picard. To the haters. I told you so. Lol

Probably the best of the season so far. Most of the character moments landed pretty naturally for me, and I’m glad we’re finally out of that goddamn nebula.

Guffawed pretty loudly when Jack started telling a story about going to M’Talas IV or whatever. Does no one in the galaxy go anywhere else any more?

Not entirely sure what to make of the Vadic section. Having a shadowy, scary voiced boss feels a little played out at this point, but hopefully it goes somewhere good. Or at least somewhere a little less cliche.

Nearly cried when they said they were gonna have to divert more power and I realised the lights were gonna be turned down even further. That scene in Shaw’s quarters was almost comical with how dark it was.

I actually thought we were actually going to see flashbacks of Shaw's POV of the battle but instead they just did sound effects which gave the scene more gravitas.

If you're part of the knife / blade / sword / HEMA community, that's a very common "Wall Hanger" knife that is used by those who are "Edgey or Edge Lords".

It's all show, not practical in any sense of the word.
Ah, gotcha. Yeah, I don't collect those. Thanks for the knowledge!

Great episode, acton packed and tense.

I think the standout scene for me was Liam Shaw’s monologue in Ten Forward and the way he hotwired the ship with his grease monkey from Chicago skills. PTSD and survivor’s guilt probably explain some of his psyche but I think he’s also just an ornery, moody, contrary sort of guy, all traits that make me really like him. I hope they don’t kill him off, but my guess is he will die a heroic death at some point so Seven can be the new captain.

I also wonder what’s going on with Vadic and the creepy alien boss and the knife. I didn’t recognize any of them. She apparently does want Jack for something but that isn’t clear either. My best guess is it will have something to do with a connection to the Great Link.
