Spoilers Starship Design in Star Trek: Picard

Correct. None of the FJ designs were given an EM treatment. Although, IIRC, FJ's estate did eventually come to a settlement with CBS after it used a similar UFP logo early in DSC's run that resembled one of the designs seen in the SFTM:

Was it this one? Can't remember...

So maybe one day we'll finally see the Ptolemy, Saldin, Hermes and Federation in all their officially licensed glory... :)

Eaglemoss never made one
Unfortunately, CBS wouldn't let EM make a deal with the Franz Joseph's Estate to use his Tech Manual designs.
Same with STO.
:(

Only for that particular asset and only to avoid a Copyright lawsuit.
The Fed Banner was made by someone who didn't realize that the FJ designs were off limits and it slipped past the producers.
It was caught at a late date in the completion of the episode and a mad scramble had to be made to avoid a lawsuit.
The folks who are running the FJ Estate have never really been amicable toward CBS due to the way the FJ starships just appeared in the background of The Motion Picture without anybody asking.
That was another instance where Paramount had to make a payment deal to FJ to avoid a lawsuit.

TrekYard's video on the Dreadnaught has been privated and all their social media references to the ship removed.

I've seen this happen a few times on twitter since the episode aired. People I follow pointing it out, but then the tweets gone a few hours later.

Sure looks like an 8 to me.
The left side of the number is completely flat, while you can make out a indent on the right side, so I think it's a 6.

The font appears to be Helvetica Compressed. if it was an 8 it would be more obvious.

Heh .. most likely another situation where the asset was used without getting permission first.
That would be the only reason Trekyards would pull it.

The relationship between CBS/Paramount Trek and Franz Joseph has been antagonistic ever since Roddenberry got pissed off over Joseph obtaining exclusive rights to his Tech Manual & Blueprints.

It was Gene who approved the use of the the starship blueprints on the monitors in TMP, knowing full well that Paramount didn't have the rights to do so.
He essentially was trying to steal back the right to use the designs.

He created a bit of a PR nightmare for Paramount when the movie hit the theaters and FJ's lawyer contacted a Paramount lawyer threatening to sue.
It was quickly settled out of court.

Isn't it the same font as used for the serial number where the 6 looks quite different than the Helvetica Compressed one?
No, that's a different font.
That also doesn't change the fact the

Either way, that number has a completely flat left side, if it was an 8 there would be no flat side.

STO is getting fantastic advertising with this.
Almost all those ship can be flown in the game.
(albeit some not so easily acquired and rather expensive to do so)

It's ~119 meters long if that helps too
For a personal ship, that's plenty big, that's the size of a small warehouse.

So I did some basic Geometry and Relative Proportions.

SS Eleos:
Length ~= 119.X meters
Width ~= _64.9 meters
Height ~= 3-4 decks (Actual Height Unknown due to lack of underside shots, so very rough estimates based on limited visual data).

P.S. Am I the only one who thinks the SS Eleos resembles a "Horse Shoe Crab" to some degree?

To take on sick people...? Like the Pasteur probably had a lot of sickbays :D
It would be awesome if they gave Beverly the Pasteur at the end :luvlove:
