Before Ross' arrest, the U.S. government were preparing to attack Wakanda. What happened? I realized that Ross had initially convinced them not to attack. But after What'sherface had Ross arrested, why didn't the U.S. government resume their plans? And what kind of time jump is the MCU planning for the next Black Panther movie?
I'm still wondering why Whatsherface wanted Hawkeye dead. If she's in the hitman business, why hasn't anyone found out?

Add this one to the list of bland and forgettable Marvel movies since Endgame. Which is kinda heartbreaking to say as it was clearly a tribute to Chadwick Boseman. But without him, it's a film without it's charismatic lead.
Love and Thunder, Spiderman and Dr Strange 2 were fab. And on the series side, Loki was good. Everything else is... just more content.

You could just google the character (Val) instead of just saying 'whatsherface'. Jeeze.
I watched the movie on Disney Plus a few days ago. Some of the scenes, were super dark and hard to see on my TV. I tried to change the brightness but it did not help much. Anyone notice this?
Do you have a 4K TV? Disney+ often streams HDR enhanced 4K resolution for its latest films and not all 4K TVs are created equal in that department. Some struggle with the higher dynamic range and the result is a dimmer image. Some TVs have adjustable settings for this. Others do not.
Just one possible reason among many.

Some of the scenes were pretty hard to make out in the cinema too. The scene were Namor first appears to Shuri and Ramonda stood out as unnecessarily dark.
Depending on your device, check if you have any enhancements turned on. Turning those off often makes things better.
However, like CaptainWacky, I found the movie to be very dark in theaters aswell. So it could very well be that.
Finally caught up with this last night. Overall I really liked it. Was a touching tribute to Boseman whilst allowing the Wakanda story to move on. Was way too long and baggy though, and as is often the case too much stuff just there to lay the groundwork for future films/TV shows. Could have easily been 15-30 minutes shorter if they'd taken one or two kitchen sinks out.
The cast were excellent. Okoye remains my favourite so I feel the film lost me a little when she disappeared in the middle, and turning her into just another MCU character in a fancy suit kinda makes her less memorable in the end which is a shame. Wright makes for a great BP and I wish we'd get more M'Baku, he's great.
Namor and his people worked way better than I expected them to.
Can totally see why Angela Bassett was Oscar nominated (Though, controversial opinion coming up, I still think Elizabeth Olsen should have been as well)

^ I still love the MCU, but I admit that my enthusiasm is fading a little bit. I believe this comes down to the fact that there was simply so much of it in phase 4. Phase four had three times as many entries in it as phase one did. However, I expect much of my enthusiasm to return once we get the Fantastic Four in the mix.

That's how I'm feeling at the moment and I've been reading Marvel Comics since the 70s. I really wish we knew a little more about that film and if it was actually on track to release when they stated it was going to.

Finally got the chance to watch the film again and if anything, I found it even more compelling than the first time around. Everything I said before about how the film was a powerful means of grieving resonates even stronger now.
One particular thread I didn't pick up on before was how Shuri didn't believe in the ancestral plane because she had thrown herself into her science so deeply that she couldn't see how it could exist. Because of that strong disbelief, she was so thrown off by its actual existence that her grief and need for vengeance blinded her, allowing Killmonger to sway her, if only just a little. Which dovetailed back to T'Challa's point about not allowing vengeance to consume oneself, as he and others once did.
And again, I have to rave about the beautiful reimaging of Namor and his kingdom into the Talokan culture. I knew a lot of care and research went into their creation for this film but the Assembled episode showed just how extensive that work truly was. The art, language, architecture, costuming, make-up, customs, and everything else was so richly presented as a unique society that it makes me long to see a film of their own and not just in an antagonistic role for others.
I know I keep sounding like a broken record with every episode of Assembled but I have to emphasize yet again how much I love how this episode shows just how much joy and appreciation this cast and crew in producing this film. Not just because they've become a close knit family from the first film but also because this episode showed even more so how much they needed this film to process their grief in losing Chadwick. Much like the film itself, I loved how this episode interspersed moments of reflection and mourning for Chadwick, from people talking about him to showing clips of him on set of all of the previous Marvel films that featured him.
And while I loved how the closing note was on a revelatory comment from him about these films, the moment that hit me the most was discovering that Dominique Thorne had a chemistry test with Chadwick. Of course, I knew she originally auditioned for Shuri and that's why she was solely considered for Riri, but knowing that she also got the chance to work with Chadwick, even in a limited capacity, struck a chord with me.
