NCIS franchise

I enjoyed the crossover. Enjoyable plot, fun seeing the characters from the three shows interacting, overall a great batch of three episodes. The scene between Kilbride and Parker at the end of the Los Angles episode really had me laughing.

On a trivia note, Robert Picardo seems to be active on television this week, with his appearance in the OG NCIS part of this storyline and an appearance in the new episode of Quantum Leap that was also on Monday night.
Side note, I just saw Picardo in an episode of Body of Proof, a series that featured Jeri Ryan in the main cast. They didn't have any scenes together so the coincidence didn't hit me until just now.

Just watched the crossover. It felt a bit too forced

Wondering if Gibbs and Dale knew each other back in the day. Just don't see Gibbs having a FLETC instructor staying at the cabin unless they have prior history. Timeline suggests Dale left the program within two years Gibbs joined NCIS (mid-1991).

And where's (and who's) the "Simon Williams" that's on the wall?

I wonder if they are gonna leave NCIS LA fans hanging by not resolving the fate of Hetty.

I was sort of hoping for a token appearance from someone from New Orleans in the crossover episode; maybe Sebastian or Gregorio, just to acknowledge the show.

Well, I guess Paramount Global will now have some more money to devote to NCIS: Sydney, assuming that series is still in-the-works. So the JAGverse's ongoing shows will be down to NCIS, NCIS: Hawai'i and Magnum P.I.

Where's Tennant's daughter? She seems to have disappeared and everytime we saw Jane at home, it's always with her son.

I think there was some throwaway reference earlier in the season to her spending the night at her dad's. I guess she's been staying there.

Real world reasons, after checking IMDB I noticed the actress who plays Tennant's daughter is in one of the upcoming Walking Dead spin-offs.

Funny how the JAGverse started on NBC with JAG and was cancelled and then moved to CBS and they've gotten like 50 seasons worth(or maybe more) out of it.

Now Magnum PI is on NBC this year after CBS cancelled it so the "JAGverse" exists on two networks. Which isn't unprecedented.

We had Homicide/X-files crossover back in the day and I think David Kelly did cross-overs between his shows on different networks when the Practice was on ABC and Ally McBeal was on FOX....

Of course looking at crossovers and shared universe one must be careful not to fall into the Tommy Westphal shared tv universe rabbit hole.

And for a more recent example, I believe the FBI shows exist in the same universe as the Chicago shows.

Wonder if any of those have done what Seinfeld did, simultaneously existing in the Mad about You universe while Susan and George watched Mad about You at home. Surely one of those writers wouldn't be paying attention...

The X-Files was established as being fictional within the shared L&O/Homicide universe, yet in one XF episode, John Munch appears!

Also, in Quantum Leap (the original), a character is seen watching Magnum, PI but they were also thinking of doing an episode where Sam leaps in as Thomas Magnum.

Tony loved Tom Selleck's Magnum Pi...

I think I would have a hard time watching that now. Tom Selleck will always be Frank Reagan to me. Of course I'm biased because Blue Bloods is my favorite TV show of all time.

As for crossovers, I think it'd be hilarious if both L&O and Blue Bloods did (separate) crossovers with NCIS. Just to see the steam rising from people's heads as they try to work out who's in whose universe.

Edit: I just realized that Necar Zadegan (Hannah Khoury from NCIS:NOLA) was also Bjayzl from ST:Picard!

I happened to catch the episode where Gibbs is operated on at sea by Jon Cryer and as someone who doesn't regularly tune in or stay completely up to date with the franchise.

Was there some kind of backdoor pilot with Jon Cryer's character and maybe something with Navy doctors? He spits out A LOT of backstory for his character in a very short amount of time in the episode.

I've lost all interest in NCIS once Abby left. NCIS: Los Angeles I do like. Deeks is hilarious, and probably the most normal of the original cast. Nell was great too. In fact, I liked her so much, that my new great nice who is scheduled to come into the world on 3/31 of this year (I think) because my niece has difficulties in the last few weeks of pregnancy so this baby, like her older sister will be delivered by C-section. My new great niece will be named Penelope, I'll be calling her Nell. The best part of NCIS:LA are the stories and mystery around "That scary little woman." Henrietta "Hetty" Lange.

I have too! For me, NCIS started losing its appeal when Cote de Pablo left the show. And then when Micheal Weatherly left, I was bummed. Then Pauley Parrette left and I just became depressed altogether and didn't watch. So I get it. And I was so let down when I read that NCIS:LA was cancelled!! It's bad enough when they cancelled NCIS:NOLA! But the LA one has been around a while!! I feel that NCIS-the mothership-is probably doomed. People keep leaving and going elsewhere! I mean Mark Harmon left the show for crying out loud!

There's a rumor circulating the internet that they're going to bring DiNozzo back to be the lead of the Sydney series. Michael Weatherly has been fueling these rumors with a lot of posts related to NCIS on his various social media accounts lately.

Yeah I've heard rumors circulating also that he would briefly come back to NCIS...but I'm unsure if he will or not.

The episode you're talking about is the premiere of the thirteenth season, where Jon Cryer made a few more appearances related to the story arc of Gibbs recuperating and recovering from his surgery. The story arc eventually leads to the introduction of Dr. Grace, a psychiatrist who becomes a recurring character on the show, with her most recent appearance being earlier in the current season.

I am actually a little surprised that they haven't tried to do a show in the same "universe" about doctors at Bethesda. They've already done a military lawyer show (JAG) and a bunch of military cop shows (all the NCISes) but not a military doctor show.

I'll insert BJ Hunnicut's kid as head of surgery, with a picture of Alan Alda and Mike Farrell from the tweet they did for the 50th recently, on her office shelf.

Hey! M*A*S*H was on CBS.
