Oh OK, I've seen code name used for a movie, just working title.

I had that happen too back in the day--but I imagine that tends to happen on some types of pages more than others. I would have school information pages hacked, but never general pages about locales, culture or local history.

Good for her, and cool that they're actually willing to nominate people in a superhero movie more often now.

Though honestly I'd have to give the oscar to Stephanie Hsu, personally. Though I haven't seen The Whale or Banshees of Inisherin, either.

Shame it wasn't nominated for Best Picture though.

Movies are ending up on streaming services faster than when I was a kid and my parents only took me and my brother to the 'second-run' movie theater and you had to wait like 5 or 6 months for the movies to get there lol.

The first couple of week(end)s are most important unless it's a long burner like Avatar 2, after that the earnings drop very sharply because people just don't go to the movies as much as they used to do and this started before Covid.

Streaming has become much more popular so it makes sense to accelerate the release while people still talk about the movie.

Conversely, I thought about going to see Wakanda Forever a second time a week ago but ended up not doing it because I knew it was coming to Disney+ at the beginning of February.

Whereas I saw Black Panther four times in theaters, the fourth being on the same day I saw Infinity War the first time.

I get the reasons for the accelerated release but that still makes me a little sad.

I don't think it's a coincidence that Wakanda Forever is getting its Disney plus release on the first day of Black History awareness month.

I didn't even see Wakanda Forever a first time in the cinema. I don't go to the cinema anywhere near as often these days and when I had a free afternoon before Christmas I opted for Violent Night instead, purely because I knew Wakanda Forever would be on Disney+ very soon. I do wonder if Disney are shooting themselves in the foot a little here.

It isn't just Marvel films though, it seems if a film is going to end up on Disney+ it's going to do so very quickly. I saw Nightmare Alley last Feb (I think) and less than a month later I could have seen it on D+, and Menu was barely in the cinemas before Christmas before winding up on Disney+ in early Jan (very good film btw).

Conversely if a film is going to wind up somewhere else like Amazon or Netflix it takes bloody ages!

Yeah, I had the same thing though I feel a little guilty about it because I'm sure it would be served better in the cinema. I don't have anyone to take at the moment and I hate northern winters which hasn't helped, I haven't completely ruled out going to see it but I more than likely will just wait a week. I enjoy the cinema though but I've only been mildly interested about Wakanda Forever, I plan on seeing Quantumania for sure in the theater.

Wikipedia is a very frustrating place if you are an actual expert. There is a misrepresentation of my PhD in a few places and it's too much hassle to deal with.

In response to some idiot troll on Twitter who was saying there's no way she'd be hired by Marvel Studios because she's a terrible actor, Chloe Bennet has dropped a serious hint that she is indeed coming back. If true, "Secret Invasion" kind of seems the obvious place.

Hilariously the guy in question dismisses AOS as a soap opera (?!?) and then got owned by people pointing out all the acclaimed actors who came from actual soap operas, including Angela Bassett who's just been nominated for an Oscar for "Wakanda Forever".

I get those confused. Which is the Disney+ Show and which is the Avengers movie?

I doubt Disney even knows for sure who's in that at this point. On the other hand we have what's basically a S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series starting in a few months.
