speaking of Mims... di we actually find out what happened to them? I think last we saw them they were in a little bit of a pickle?

I thought that was a false vision Willow was being sent to dishearten him, or something.
On January 25th a documentary about the making of the series debuts on Disney+.

Everytime I see "Mims" I think of Jabberwocky, maybe next season we'll see the Borogroves and Jabberwock! I did see something where Kasdan said that he'd like to have more of Mims in season two if it happens. Annabelle Davis seems pretty cool, I wouldn't mind seeing more of her in the show.
"Behind the Magic" coming up on D+, I love that they're keeping the "Life's Too Short" vibes we got in the series teaser.
It's a crime Life's Too Short isn't on streaming anywhere.

HBO doesn't have the Life Too Short series anymore but they do have the finale for some reason where Warwick tries to scrape up money for "development costs" for Willow 2 after being approached by Val Kilmer.
Unfortunately Youtube doesn't have the part where Warwick confronts Val and finds out he hasn't talked to Lucas or Ron Howard and is basically just spending all the money on himself.

Damn, that would be awesome. I had wondered how involved he was with the season so I was thrilled to see him pop up in the behind the scenes special trailer.

Yeah, that makes sense. While he directed the original, he's a busy guy.
That doesn't always mean anything significant, they give a lot of EP credits to people who weren't really involved with the movie or show. Stan Lee was credited as an EP for pretty much all of the Marvel movies produced while he was alive, but I don't think he was actually personally involved in the production of any of them.
Yeah, it's pretty common for the directors or producers of movies to get EP credit for their TV adaptations or sequels even if they aren't involved in them at all. The problem with "Executive Producer" as a credit is that it's used for a such a wide range of different roles that it really doesn't tell you anything about a holder of the title except that they profit from the production.
It's been mentioned that Howard would look at dailies and give script input and approval. Maybe the upcoming behind-the-scenes special will give some detail.
Enjoyed the making of though it wasn't particularly enlightening on the technical side. I was glad they took a moment where Ruby and Erin talk about the queer relationships in the show, I thought for a bit they were just going to leave it at Erin's nifty Powerpuff Girls "Representation Matters" shirt. I liked Warwick's little Segway and laughed harder than I should at the dumb "Disney Minus" joke. I've followed some of the actor's socials and it really does seem that their chemistry and friendship is real and I think the characters are one of the show's greatest strengths. It was nice that they dropped the humor at the end to give some genuine praise for Warwick.
One thing I thought was kind of funny is the use of "appropriate" music throughout which probably had some naysayers thinking "oh, come on!".

The behind-the-scenes special was disappointing. They really overdid the joke about Warwick Davis being an egotistical terror and all that. I like making-of specials because they reveal the facts behind the fiction, so it was frustrating that everything about Davis in the special was this fictionalized schtick. I would've rather learned more about who he really is. And there are probably some idiots out there who'll come away believing it's true. (Although the gag about the sequel pitches and the colons was somewhat amusing.)
I definitely would've liked to see less time spent on that fabrication and more talking about the actual production process, VFX, etc. There was this one passing shot near the end where Davis was standing next to what I think was his daughter dressed up as Willow with performance-capture dots on her face. Was she stunt-doubling her father? That's the sort of thing I want to find out about.
It also would've been nice to spend more time interviewing the cast members, including ones who didn't get to talk on camera. Like Joonas Suotamo, who played the birdcage-headed giant and is also Chewbacca now. What's he like? (And yay, I remembered how to spell his name!)

It felt like Davis was doing his LIfe's Too Short character in the making of special. It was amsuing at times but the joke went on far too long. At least it wasn't as mean-spirited as Lifes Too Short was (a show I never much liked as it felt like a less funny rehash of Gervais and Merchant's previous show Extras.)
Finally had the chance to watch the behind-the-scenes special and I really enjoyed it, yes, including the silly satirical elements about Warwick's ego. It's funny way to break the mold a bit and do something different with this kind of special.
But above all else, this special, like many of these (especially all of the Marvel Assembled episodes), really highlights how much joy and fun these actors and crew had producing this show and how close they all became. Like Mr. Adventure said, I loved how the special took the moment to highlight the representation of LGBTQ+ characters as well as people of color.
