Ashes to Ashes BBC One Tonight

Another good episode. I did think the "reveal" at the end was kinda obvious though.
Only 2 episodes to go till the end of the series. I'm not sure whether I like this more then Life on Mars, but I certainly think it's at least as good.

"When they launder money, they don't actually... wash it?"

I don't get why her mind makes her want Gene Hunt though. For Tyler, he was a father figure, I get that... but for her, a sex object?

I didn't enjoy this week's episode as much as last week's. I think it's because I'm less interested in what's happening to her in her hospital bed (or wherever she "really" is). It was nice seeing the Cutty Sark before the bastards turned it into a firework. The kid started out okay and turned into a bit of a stage school irritation as the episode went out. It was nice to see Evan (is that his name?) again. But I can't see Gene having that much of an age-related downer on himself. I loved the music video ending! I absolutely loved it - the breaking glass, the rescue, the cowboy boots, the whole damn thing. It was just like being 15 again. Is this the real reason I love A2A so much, I ask myself?

Maybe it's a subconscious desire for a dominating manly man?;)

Of course 'Enders had to go on after the match didn't it? Come Armageddon, Beeb 1 will put Eastenders on straight afterwards. [/rant]

And ITV would have an episodes of Corrie either side of it, can't have the soap addicts going without, ya know.

I wondered if the time its set in was before all the work in London on the Docks etc and if they had to shoot some scenes in an odd location to make up.

I'm not caring as much as about the psychological aspect either, when she wakes up I'll be a little bit non-plussed I'm guessing. The music is a nice touch for the series, it's well chosen for the scenes.

I liked this weeks, given how cocksure he is it was nice to see Gene doubting himself, and there was some great dialogue as usual.

I still don't quite see Gene and Alex as a couple, and I wish they'd explain what happened to Hunt's wife (who I'm pretty sure was mentioned in LOM).

I'm glad it wasn't Evan revealed in the end because I'm still half convinved he's Alex's dad!

I could be completely off track here, but anyone else reckon this musterious hitman might turn up again? And might be the one who kills her parents? (I also have a theory that they aren't dead, that it was an MI5 fake death parents in protective custody type thing)

Finally got to see it last night but was a bit pissed so don't remember much. The ending was good though. I like how vulnerable she is, despite her being convinced she's dreaming.

I can't quite remember how it was worded, but I'm sure they mentioned her at the start of the series, said they'd split, he said it was down to the job or something...
