I am so excited for… the next episode! If you like the ships you saw at the end last week, and wanna see fleet action stuff with those, you'll like it. I was quite surprised how far they took it.
Kevin continues, “For us, all we knew is we had one season of Star Trek, and we didn't know what was gonna happen. We were introduced to Star Trek by Wrath of Khan, which had a very emotional finale. And we wanted this [moment] to stick with people. We wanted it not just to be elegant and imaginative. When I look back at E.T., or The Iron Giant, I want kids to look back at this and go, "Oooh, Season 1 Prodigy."
Dan continues. “For some people who might feel let down in Season 1 because we did not see Janeway and Chakotay together yet. But I feel this has been the story of the main kids.” He says Season 2 will be where Janeway and Chakota really pay off.
The way they are describing it here, I am cautiously optimistic they may dedicate a relatively high amount of screentime to Gwyn's plotline (with her apart from all the others, there is a risk we will rarely see her and only in short bursts, but here they seem to imply it's a not a mere sideplot to "park" Gwyn but a major driver of S2).With scripts written and voice recordings already underway, the Hagemans are excited about audiences getting to see what they’ve been working on for some time. In particular, the Chakotay story; the fate of Gwyndala (Ella Purnell) who decided to leave her friends and go to her homeworld to connect to her real history and origins, and what that big Protostar class ship might mean.
“We set up two really big engines there,” Dan acknowledges. “Having the weight of her world on her shoulders, so to speak. And then also the message from Chakotay 52 years in the future. Read into it what you'd like but those are two big engines that we aim to pay off in Season 2.”
Or we could perhaps get this ship, Terry Matalas said that it was in service for 20 years from around this point in the 2380’s. It would however make more sense for a Voyager A to go to the Delta Quadrant to rescue Chakotay though, just for the sentimentality of it if nothing else.Have hope that they'll introduce the Vesta Class, now that the "Prototype" Quantum slipstream ship, Dauntless seemingly worked ( Never seen it actually IN slipstream) And bring in Captain Dax![]()

I meant by the time of Picard season 3 that this ship could have been in service for a while, which is around 20 years later. The F would be brand new pretty much if shown on this toon. The F could possibly be launched in Prodigy season 2, at least if the Enterprise E was badly damaged beyond repair in the Prodigy season 2 finale. Did anybody spot the E’s destroyed hulk of hull in the starship graveyard shots? At no point did Terry Matalas say the E-F had been in service for 20 years.
It could have been quite the traumatic experience, a high percentage of it’s crew lost. Wouldn’t want to make a film about that as it would have been more upsetting than Titanic, it would have been far *too* depressing. We definitely need an F soon though so that we can have a G for Seven of Nine/Snoop, unless Terry wants to give Seven the F? Kirk got a second hand Enterprise too, third hand even. Nothing wrong with a second hand car if it has been well loved and has kept up with its services, regardless of the mileage.If.. IF.. the Enterprise E was destroyed, it would be kinda.. crappy, just nonchalantly destroyed.. basically off screen on a cartoon..
They did on the holodeck. It's a ship. The Next Generation are going to have to learn what an Enterprise is one day.
I meant younger audiences who might be making Star Trek 20 years from now if Terry Matalas or JJ Abrams ever hand the reigns over. The Prodigy crew knowing about the Enterprise and a bit of it’s history already may make them all the more excited to serve on it.They did on the holodeck. It's a ship.
Or, they might make their own ship rather than the constant reliance on old ships.I meant younger audiences who might be making Star Trek 20 years from now if Terry Matalas or JJ Abrams ever hand the reigns over.
