Spoilers Lower Decks Ep set at DS9

I loved it. Felt like I got to visit old friends I haven't seen in twenty-three years. :)

Does it mean it's now Canon that Bajor hasn't joined the Federation or the Bajoran Milita just wasn't absorbed into Starfleet by the time of Lower Decks?

I would say Bajor hasn't joined the Federation. Otherwise, the militia would've been incorporated into Starfleet and the writers of the show are usually very good with details like that.

Earth still has another "military" not part of Starfleet as implied by Tom Paris' desire join that organization that sails the oceans of Earth (or perhaps other Federation worlds) as if it wasn't under Starfleet.

It's not definitive, but I would say "Hear All, Say Nothing" strongly implies that the Bajoran Republic has not yet joined the Federation as of early 2381 (which the writers have apparently said "Hear All, Say Nothing" is set in).

Except Paris explicitly referred to the Federation Naval Patrol, not the United Earth Naval Patrol. Although, why an interstellar republic would have a military service dealing with oceanographic warfare instead of leaving that to its Member States is... unclear.

But, yeah, it is possible that the Bajoran Militia might continue to exist and not be completely enfolded into Starfleet once the Bajoran Republic becomes a Federation Member State. It does raise the question of why Starfleet would continue to administer Deep Space 9 as a joint Federation Starfleet/Bajoran Militia starbase instead of folding the starbase into Starfleet entirely and having the Militia handle Bajor-based affairs though. It's not like Starbase 1 is administered as a joint Federation Starfleet/United Earth Defense Force starbase, or like there's ever been any indication of a join Federation Starfleet/Andorian Imperial Guard starbase in the Andor system.

Or, for that matter, it's not like Naval Station Norfolk is administered by the U.S. Navy and the Virginia Defense Force.

Why would DS9 need to be administered by Starfleet at all? Without a Cardassian or Dominion threats, the station is just another tollbooth whose administration can be devolved to whatever local authorities exist. We aren't presuming that every space station must be run by the central government of the Federation, are we?

Lower Decks was the one corner of NuTrek I derived a smidgen of enjoyment from, but after watching the season 3 premiere it was evident even that puddle had dried up, so I checked out.

I saw there had been a the DS9 episode; DS9 is my favorite Trek and up till now remained unsullied by the current regime. I know LD is a joke / parody series but still, I was a bit tentative to see new DS9 content.

I lasted up to where Nerys greeted the Cerritos crew. It felt icky.
