Indiana Jones 5. It's official.

Kind of crazy that we still don't have a trailer or even a title for this film yet. Yeah, it's not coming out for another nine months but still you'd think we would've gotten the title and a
Not yet, I don't think. Maybe at the next event, but Marketing is so time sensitive that I would expect the title around 8 months, when logos are finalized and merchandising can be teased.

But the best news: Sallah is back!!!
Honestly, mixed feelings on this. On the one hand, I am excited to see John Rhys-Davies return as a beloved character. On the other hand, let's be honest, the character was full of racist stereotypes, not to mention white-washed. And if they brought back the character, but have him be played by an actor of actual Egyptian heritage instead of Rhys-Davies, well, that wouldn't feel right, either. It's a case where my personal attachment is in direct contradiction to my ethical standarts.
Kind of like Winnetou (Germans will know what I'm talking about).

Yeah, that's a fair point. I've had trouble reconciling that issue. I want to think he's a British national who was orphaned and adopted by an Egyptian family, hence the name.

It's still not great, but it's better than the initial surface level.

I expect the trailer and title announcement with Avatar 2 in December.
Bah. I don't want to wait that long! :scream:

Still no film title. :(

But some footage was shown at D23....which won't be shared with us mere mortals. :(

I hope the Welsh actor playing an Egyptian manages to not go off on any of the Anti-Muslim rants he's now mostly known for, it might seem a bit out of character :borg:

Seriously though, Marvel got kind of screwed by people like Evangeline Lily and Letitia Wright not coming out as assholes until after they had a few movies under their belts and the characters needed some kind of follow up, and Star Wars had to change some major plans after they (thankfully) got rid of Carano, but it would be super easy to just say Sallah died off screen, just like Indy's Dad in the last film. Or just don't bring him up at all, really they had many choices and still made a stupid one.

I am so not looking forward to this movie.

Is it true that Phoebe Waller-Bridge is supposed to be portraying Indy and Marion's long lost daughter? Please tell me this is not true. Because I don't see how Indy and Marion managed to conceive a second child, who was an adult during the movie's setting of 1969.

The report I read said she's his goddaughter, so not blood related.
