Indiana Jones 5. It's official.

Fair enough. Someone saying "I'm not looking forward to..." reads as an obligation to me, i.e. "I'm not looking forward to attending 5 meetings today." But it's still something I have to do. A film series is not something I feel obligation towards. So, I apologize if I sound flippant because as far as attitudes go this one is difficult for me to parse.

You're not wrong about it feeling like an obligation sometimes, especially if the material turns out to be... not good. For a personal example, I wanted to be conversant on this board about Voyager and Enterprise, so I watched both series even though I really didn't like them. But they were Trek, and I wanted to know the lore and be able to talk about them, so I watched them.

After Top Gun: Maverick and Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley, this one should be Indiana Jones: Indiana Jones.

I'd be fine if they would call it something like: Indiana Jones and The Lost Legacy. I doubt it would be simply titled Indiana Jones, as that would kind of go against the pulpish nature of the series. They've all had a grand and majestic title to them.

I mean it wouldn't happen anyway... but when filming Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade, Connery was 57 and turned 58. Sean Patrick Flannery is now 57. Maybe if Ford won't do it they can use him as the 'old Indy bookend'

At 52, this makes me feel.... Wait.. What's the word I'm looking for? Oh yeah. OLD... Then again, it's not the years, it's the mileage.

I've always felt that Anthony Ingruber never got a fair shot at doing Solo, because folks felt his uncanny look and voice would be a distraction. But I think, if he has the chops, he'd make a great young Indy.

I'm curious what a TV show would look like. I can't imagine that they'd just copy Young Indiana Jones. Maybe a TV show would let them recast Indy without Harrison Ford getting upset, so we'd get an "in his prime" Indy having adventures in the 30s/40s. It could definitely work, the movies were (from what I remember) based on old adventure serials.

Ingruber has the voice and mannerisms down so perfectly, I would completely be okay with recasting. He's 32. Perfect age, sound, and look. Its an absolute no-brainer IMO. I hope the show is set during the "Short Round" era and is technically a prequel, so no worrying about Henry or Marion or any later canon.
