Have Jonathon Kent get lost in the future around the 30th-31st century, then by the time Clark finds him with the help of the "Legion of Super Heroes" and brings him back, he's "Slightly older" and recasted.

Maybe they could just recast him with Nathan Fillion.

When I said slightly older, I didn't expect actors past their 40's.

I was thinking guys in their early to mid 20's.

    I dunno...

Some of you guys might be serious about wanting a much older version of Jonathon Kent once he arrives to the future and is discovered.

Nah. They did that in the comics. Not a fan.

What are you talking about? Who said anything about "arriving to the future?" We don't know anything about the season 3 storyline yet.

And of course none of us are serious. We're naming actors who are known for taking over roles from their original actors. That's the joke.

I don't get why people are so shocked by this, that's exactly what the show's been advertised as literally from the time it was first announced. They've always made it clear that the show was focused on the family drama stuff than on the supeheroing.

I know this is a joke, but I wonder if they'd let them do a version of Krypto on S&L when he's already a fairly big part of Titans.

"..focused on the family drama stuff.." does not mean Spelling-styled young adult dramas. It can mean the type of well-merged family development / yes--superhero stories which made Black Lightning such a great, effective series.

Not familiar with "The Direct," but supposedly they have a bit of a Season 3 scoop:

Chad L. Coleman has a terrific voice and a strong presence. He'll make an excellent lead villain, whether it's Mannheim or someone else. The casting alone should make him an improvement on the dull Ally Allston as a big bad.

Coleman has previous experience with DC on The CW, as he played the crimelord Tobias Church, aka Charon, on four episodes of Arrow.

Oh, I'd forgotten that. Before I started watching The Orville just recently, I remembered him mainly from The Expanse.

I just hope that they don't pull another fake-out on the villain this season. Not that I didn't enjoy Luthor/Irons and Doomsday/Bizarro, but I'd hate for the show to repeat itself too often.

The fake out could be that Mannheim is actually Darkseid--rather than just working for him.

I could buy Coleman as Darkseid. He's got the voice for it.

Coleman posted on Instagram and seems to have confirmed that he is playing Bruno Mannheim. It should be noted that he used the hashtag "BrunoMannheim", but the image is one combining pictures of Mannheim and Darkseid).
