There's no way Starfleet would restore the Enterprise-D. Maybe they find an old Galaxy class and rename her Enterprise?

 

They recovered her saucer from Veridian III and put it in a museum.
At least according to a plaque made for PIC Season 2.

 

Hmm. Maybe there's something hidden there that need to go retrieve.

 

I think it's more like they wanted to meet up at somewhere nostalgic, familiar.

 

Frakes apparently spoiled something about PIC S3 in the LDS S2 ‘Kayshon, His Eyes Open’ audio commentary, but I don’t know what. I haven’t bought it yet.

They actually did show up in PIC S2. But they’re out of focus in the background of a hallway shot. Very few people would notice.

Going out on a limb here - Could Spiner be playing a Brand New Out of the Box Data? Could have be a final gift from Q. That could fit with the line of an "old new character" In addition, Spiner's contract for Picard did state not playing Data for SE2, nothing about SE3.

 

I like this idea! It'd be kinda fun to have an old man Data acting like new born Data. However, rather than be a gift from Q, I think it would be more in line at this point (and way funnier) to have him be a WHOLE OTHER android that no one knew about before! This one was built AFTER Data and AFTER Julianna and of course Noonien never mentioned it.

 

We heard Spiner's voice in the very first teaser, and he sounded emotional.

 

Someone at Daystrom perfected Lore (got rid of his bad programming)... wouldn't that be something

 

That could be the Adam Noonien Soong character as a miss direction in the teaser.

 

They've killed Data twice now. I really doubt they'll just bring him back, unless it's a holodeck recreation.

 

Do you mean Altan Inigo Soong? Because Adam Soong would be 400+ years old at this point.

 

I've lost track of all the Soong brood. So many, like the Dax's.
