I can't see her getting Enterprise. It risks oversaturation.

The Kelvin Films come out once every 100 years. It's not on anyone's radar anymore. "But they're making Star Trek 4!" Wake me up when they start filming. The normies have all moved on, and so have most people like us.

I think if fans can't tell a "TOS" Enterprise from a "TNG" Enterprise, that's on them, not Picard.

EDITED TO ADD: I think the Kelvin Films stalling out and going nowhere was one of the factors that Paramount considered when greenlighting Strange New Worlds.

Geordi being a dad is kinda hilarious after how utterly clueless he was in TNG.

You'd think a guy that obsessed with dying in battle would have found a way to do so in the meantime. Although... the more I think about it, such an end for Worf in season three would really be the most respectful farewell for the character.

As captains go he was just fine. I may not have watched much TNG but my friends made sure I saw some. This was one, and the episode is a classic for a reason and I never got the negativity towards Jellico.

I've always liked Jellico.

I at least didn't dislike him. But I did always find especially Riker's behaviour throughout Jellico's tenure quite childish, as Shives righfully points out... man, Riker was really awfully written sometimes. Or maybe even more often. I feel like Jonathan Frakes' charisma made the heavy lifting for the character most of the time, the more I think about it.

I've seen parts of season 1 and 2, which I caught on air, and then bits and pieces from various seasons. I think I caught most of it on reruns between Stargate viewings.

What's keeping me? No hook or interest in the characters.

I think it comes down to expectations with that whole Jellico style vs. Picard style. Jellico was clearly competent and got results. His ship ran like clockwork. His crew a representation of his own strengths and abilities. He is the type of captain that can make a crew just as damn good as he is. The other side of that is, those under him will only shine when they display his traits and abilities. They develop themselves to be more like him and how he does things. Perfectly okay if that works for you. Picard nurtures individuals and allows people to grow and develop their personal strengths, in a system of communication and often times compromise. I don't think one is necessarily better than the other, but I'd much rather work for Picard rather than Jellico. One is a really effective boss that gets the exact job done the way they wants it, whereas the other is a great leader that shows you the way to get any job done.

I likely have more fondness for TNG than you do, but the thing that really grabs me when watching it now? The self-righteousness of it all. Picard and the gang were really nothing more than Federation missionaries, out to spread the good word.
