A couple more questions then, if you don't mind. I'm trying to get a better understanding of your reasoning here. When do you think was the last time you've been rightfully accused of something? What would be the expected consequences of an accusation you're referring to here be? Who do you mean by "We" in your last sentence?
Can we please not derail this thread with nonsense like so many others have been. To paraphrase Elnor: choose to ignore.
Alright, this tangent about @VKORECTU and their political beliefs needs to stop now, or warnings will be handed out by the forum mods.
He wasn't even captain of the Worf/Jadzia ship... I imagine it will be like Scotty being Captain of Engineering, or maybe an honourary rank following his time as Klingon ambassador
As Matalas mentioned that his position would in some way relate to the Dominion (if I got it right), I'd expect him to be in the oversight of disarmament / arms limitation or maintenance of a demilitarised zone or some such. Which then lead to frustrations expressed through joining a terrorist organisation... I really disliked that episode when I first watched it eons ago, but looking back with today's eyes... yeah, that's what I imagine a character with Worf's set of beliefs and ideology would do. I will literally laugh out loud if they bring this up in season 3 though!
Seven of Nine is my favourite Star Trek character but I have never actually been attracted to her beyond thinking that she is an *amazing* character and actress, despite the studios attempt at dressing her seductively which I think was done to attract more young males to the franchise. Now Hugh on the other hand… it’s a shame that they killed him off in Picard as he would have been a guaranteed cast regular in a Seven of Nine spin off series more than likely. Icheb could have been too. Ah well. Seven has lost so much over the years: Her mum and dad Any other family she had back in the Alpha quadrant? Though I’m *sure* she might have had an extended family? Maybe they can show up? Icheb, her ward/son Hugh Her friends in Unimatrix Zero, though some of them could still be around? Her friends on Voyager - not death hopefully, just drifted away from them by the looks of it. Must have been a rift with her mentor Janeway? I hope that we get to see Naomi Wildman return, perhaps she can be a young officer in Starfleet somewhere. Would it be too much of a coincidence if she was stationed on the Enterprise? Probably as much of a coincidence as Hikaru Sulu’s daughter, Demora, appearing in Generations. The Enterprise will also need an EMH? Robert Picardo? He still looks the same nearly.
I’m not seeing Naomi Wildman coming back. Especially since she has nothing to do with Picard or the TNG cast.
I meant in the Seven of Nine Spin-off. Though if the spin-off is based on the Enterprise then I see no reason why Naomi can’t be part of the crew as a guest appearance/cameo on the Enterprise. It would be a bit like when Pike and the Enterprise were on Season 3 of Discovery in preparation for the launch of a spin-off. ‘Passing the torch’ so to speak. She is a ‘minor’ character though so not important that she appears. But if Wesley can come back….
I agree that Seven needs some good happening to her besides the starfleet commission. Hopefully they'll follow up on the growth she had for a bit while de-borged in LA, to remedy some of the disappointment/bitterness she displayed in the first two seasons.
No, I’m serious. Has there been some kind of official announcement, or is this just wishful thinking?
Wishful thinking from a few, but Star Trek has a long history of ending relationships and some tragically. Seven's fate remains unknown but it's possible season 3 will be her last appearance.
Nothing is official until it is announced through official channels and confirmed by CBS/Paramount. It’s fun to speculate though, don’t you think? I don’t think that they will announce anything about the future of TV Trek ‘spin off’ wise until at least near the end of Picard’s third season run, especially if it gives away too much about the third season by announcing what the new series is too soon. They wouldn’t want to steal the thunder or impact from Picard season three so to speak I am sure. Or you never know, ratings could tank and they might conclude that it is not financially viable to make yet another new series. If it all get’s too much they might just want to stick with Strange New World’s and Disco as well as the cartoons. Oh, and that JJ Abrahams movie when they finally pick a writer for it. Have you seen Strange New World’s by the way? It is *awesome*!
Nothing official yet. But it's pretty much set in stone that a thematic and era-bound follow up to PIC is in production. We know that Matalas is involved in the creation of a new series and that it'll be using the sets of PIC - the Stargazer bridge in particular, which was already repurposed for (with 99% certainty) a new Enterprise. Plus whatever else they'll create for season 3, they'll hardly throw it away after 10 episodes. And none of the PIC sets can be used for DIS or SNW since those are produced in Canada, while PIC is in California. But except for these tidbits there's only speculation AFAIK.
